Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, made a rare joint public appearance at the Cornbury House Horse Trials in Oxfordshire, joining members of the royal family for a day of equestrian sport.
The couple attended the fourth day of the annual competition on Saturday, where leading riders and horses competed across dressage, cross-country and show jumping.
Beatrice, 38, has largely stayed away from the public spotlight in recent months as scrutiny surrounding her father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson’s past links to Jeffrey Epstein has continued.
Beatrice Makes Stylish Return to Public Events
For the occasion, Beatrice chose a green lace dress by Ulla Johnson, layered beneath a velvet green Philip Cleak blazer by BYAN.
She completed the look with Givenchy boots and understated hoop earrings, keeping her accessories relatively simple for the outdoor sporting event.
Edo, 42, opted for a smart but relaxed combination of a blue shirt, waistcoat and light green trousers.
He finished his outfit with a baker boy cap.
The couple appeared affectionate throughout the outing, with Beatrice and Edo seen standing closely together as they watched the day’s events.
Zara Tindall and Sophie Join the Royal Gathering
Beatrice was accompanied by her cousin Zara Tindall and her aunt, the Duchess of Edinburgh, who also attended the horse trials.
Zara, 45, appeared in a casual ensemble featuring blue Citizens of Humanity jeans and a Fairfax and Favor cross-body bag costing £295.
The daughter of Princess Anne, an accomplished equestrian herself, was photographed warmly embracing Sophie during the event.
Sophie, 61, also embraced the occasion’s equestrian theme with a Soler London jacket and skirt, Penelope Chilvers boots and earrings by Giulia Barela.
The gathering offered a relatively informal setting for the royal women, with the group enjoying the competition and posing for photographs.
Beatrice Returns to View After Family Funeral
The appearance represents Beatrice’s first public outing since she attended the funeral of her mother’s former partner, Paddy McNally, last month.
McNally, a former Formula One advertising executive, died aged 88 in July and was later buried at St James’ Church in Sevenhampton, Wiltshire, on August 14.
The businessman reportedly left Sarah Ferguson an allowance and had remained supportive of the former Duchess of York for many years after their relationship ended.
McNally and Ferguson had a three-year affair that ended in 1985.
He was 22 years older than Ferguson and subsequently continued to provide financial support.
His fortune was estimated at around £600 million, with much of his wealth coming from the £262 million sale of his Allsport Management hospitality business in 2006.
Beatrice and her sister, Princess Eugenie, are understood to have spent family holidays at McNally’s properties during their childhood, although the extent of Beatrice’s personal relationship with him is unclear.
Ferguson Keeps Away From Public Spotlight
Ferguson, 66, has significantly reduced her public appearances amid renewed criticism surrounding her past association with Epstein.
Her most recent reported public appearance came in April, when she was photographed at a luxury ski resort in the Austrian Alps.
Her absence from the public eye has coincided with wider scrutiny of her relationship with Andrew and the former couple’s connections to Epstein.
Edoardo Continues International Property Work
While Beatrice has maintained a quieter public profile, Edo has continued his work with Banda Property, the high-end interior design and property company he founded in 2007.
Earlier this month, the father of three travelled to the United States for an upcoming project, with Banda documenting aspects of the trip on its social media account.
Photographs showed Edo examining brown fabric samples in a workshop, while another image captured him inspecting a structure alongside a red ladder.
Banda told its followers that its CEO was assessing available options before sharing a final photograph taken from an aircraft as the team prepared to return to London.
The US trip was not Edo’s first recent business visit to America. In March, he travelled to Florida for work connected with Banda Property.
During that visit, he was photographed at several high-end locations in Palm Beach and Miami, including the Colony Hotel and the Mr C Miami hotel.
He also attended an interiors event at Hive Home and visited exclusive venues including The Carriage House and Fisher Club.
Reports Point to Ferguson’s Possible UK Return
The horse trials appearance also comes amid reports that Ferguson is considering a return to Britain after spending considerable time away.
She is reportedly looking for a six-bedroom property in a gated Home Counties community, with a potential rental cost of around £10,000 a month.
A source claimed that the former duchess had been considering a move back for some time but had been waiting to find a suitable home.
Ferguson’s reported plans come after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the UK with their children in late August, following several years living in California.
According to reports, people close to Ferguson believe she could use the renewed attention surrounding the Sussexes to make her own return with less public scrutiny.
