Processed exports discard embedded EXIF, GPS, camera details, comments and XMP. Basic format headers may remain. Keeping the original preserves all bytes and skips conversion and edits.

Fast mode takes less time but may need lower quality to meet a strict file-size limit.

Higher quality usually creates a larger file. PNG and BMP ignore this setting.

1 KB = 1,024 bytes. Smaller-file mode lowers quality and, when allowed, dimensions. Turn it off to prioritize clarity. An explicit size limit still applies.

Enlarging cannot recover missing detail. Dimensions below refer to the image before rotation. Maximum output: 24 million pixels, 16,384 pixels per side.

Use lightly to improve edge contrast; too much can create halos.

Processing stays on your device. Images are converted on your device. AVIF processing may take longer than JPG or WebP. Animated images export one still frame. HDR / wide-gamut originals may change when rendered to standard browser canvas.

Choose the right balance of size and clarity

Choose an image, select an output format and a quality preset, then convert to inspect the result before downloading. You can also optimize an image without changing its format. All image processing happens locally in your browser; image files are not uploaded by this tool.

Smaller files

Try WebP or JPG with the Smaller file preset. Set a maximum file size to let the converter search for a suitable quality level. Allow smaller dimensions if meeting the size target matters more than retaining the original resolution. Results depend on the image; the tool reports when it cannot reach your target.

Clearer images

Use Higher clarity and retain the original dimensions. PNG preserves rendered pixels without lossy encoding and works well for text, screenshots and transparent graphics. Light sharpening can emphasize edges, but cannot restore detail missing from the original. Enlarging an image does not create true additional detail.

Remove image metadata

The default mode creates a new image from rendered pixels, discarding source EXIF, GPS coordinates, camera information, XMP and comments. Standard output format headers may remain. Visible text, watermarks and identifying content within the image are not removed. Choose Keep original file unchanged to preserve the original bytes and metadata; this mode skips all edits and compression.

Formats and transparency

JPG is useful for photographs and uses a solid background. WebP offers compression and transparency. PNG uses lossless pixel encoding with transparency. BMP exports a genuine uncompressed 24-bit bitmap and is usually large. AVIF encoding uses a WebAssembly version of libavif in a background worker, even when the browser cannot natively export AVIF. AVIF support loads on demand from this website and can be cached by your browser. Image pixels stay on your device. Reading an AVIF file also requires browser decoding support. Unsupported formats are never silently saved under an incorrect extension.

Before you download

Compare the original and result, inspect at actual pixel size, and check the byte count and dimensions. Animated input becomes a still image. Canvas processing may change HDR or wide-gamut colors. Source image orientation follows the browser decoder. PNG is lossless relative to the rendered output, not necessarily identical to the source file after resizing, rotation or color conversion.
