A Russian drone strike on a railway station in Dnipro, Ukraine, has killed 13 people and injured 10 others, according to Ukrainian authorities.
The attack targeted a platform where a suburban electric train and a scheduled passenger train were standing, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a statement published on X.
Emergency services were deployed to the scene to assist the injured and respond to the incident.
Ukraine Calls for Stronger Sanctions Against Russia
Following the attack, Ukraine called on the United States, the European Union and the Group of Seven (G7) countries to impose stronger sanctions against Russia.
Zelenskyy questioned the lifting of sanctions on certain Russian oligarchs and parts of the Russian energy sector, arguing that Moscow had continued its attacks rather than pursuing de-escalation.
He said sanctions targeting Russia and its war machine should remain in place for as long as the war continues.
Kyiv Urges Western Allies to Maintain Pressure on Moscow
Ukraine renewed its call for decisive action from its Western allies in response to Russia’s continued military escalation.
The Ukrainian president urged the EU, the United States and G7 members to introduce additional restrictive measures against Moscow, thanking those willing to support the effort.
The reported strike adds to Ukraine’s calls for continued international pressure on Russia amid the ongoing war.
