Kayleigh McEnany has come under criticism after making an inaccurate statement on live television about Donald Trump’s past connections to Jeffrey Epstein.
The former White House press secretary, now a Fox News host, claimed the former president had never flown aboard Epstein’s private aircraft, despite official flight records indicating otherwise.
McEnany Defends Trump During Clinton Discussion
The controversy arose during a Fox News segment centered on former President Bill Clinton’s association with Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender.
While discussing the issue, McEnany argued that Trump should not be compared to Clinton because, according to her, Trump had never been a passenger on Epstein’s plane.
She suggested Clinton’s repeated flights on the aircraft made the situations fundamentally different.
Her remarks, however, conflict with documents that have been publicly released by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Flight Records Tell a Different Story
Previously disclosed flight logs indicate that Trump traveled aboard Epstein’s private jet on multiple occasions during the 1990s.
The records became the focus of renewed attention after emails from 2020, later made public in December, revealed that prosecutors reviewing evidence in the Ghislaine Maxwell investigation had identified more Trump flights than had previously been known.
According to one prosecutor involved in the case, the flight manifests showed Trump used Epstein’s aircraft significantly more often than earlier reports had suggested, including during years that overlapped with the period relevant to the Maxwell prosecution.
Prosecutors Identified Multiple Flights
The correspondence stated that Trump appeared on passenger manifests for at least eight flights between 1993 and 1996.
Several of those journeys reportedly included Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate who was later convicted for helping recruit and abuse underage girls.
The records also show that Trump was accompanied on different trips by then-wife Marla Maples, daughter Tiffany Trump, and son Eric Trump.
One flight in 1993 reportedly listed only Trump and Epstein as passengers.
Another manifest included Epstein, Trump, and a 20-year-old woman whose identity remains redacted in the released documents.
Clinton’s Flight History Remains Extensive
Bill Clinton’s documented travel aboard Epstein’s aircraft remains far more extensive, with records showing he flew on the jet 26 times between 2002 and 2003.
Even so, the existence of Trump’s own flights undermines McEnany’s assertion that he never used the aircraft.
False On-Air Statement Sparks Debate
The discrepancy has fueled renewed discussion about the accuracy of public claims surrounding the Epstein investigation and the importance of relying on documented evidence.
Although Clinton’s association with Epstein has long attracted public attention, the available flight logs also establish that Trump traveled on Epstein’s private jet multiple times, directly contradicting McEnany’s on-air statement that he had never been aboard the aircraft.
