Red Lobster is once again serving its famous Endless Shrimp promotion, bringing back the fan-favorite deal despite the role it played in the seafood chain’s financial collapse just over a year ago.

The limited-time return marks another step in the company’s effort to reconnect with loyal customers while pursuing a more sustainable business strategy.

A Deal That Once Came at a Heavy Cost

The Endless Shrimp promotion became one of Red Lobster’s biggest attractions after it was introduced as a permanent menu option in 2024.

While the offer proved wildly popular with diners, it also proved financially damaging.

The company reportedly lost approximately $11 million within a three-month period as customers took full advantage of the unlimited dining offer.

The mounting losses contributed to Red Lobster filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, forcing the iconic restaurant chain into a major restructuring process.

Endless Shrimp Returns for a Limited Run

Starting Monday, guests at Red Lobster locations nationwide can once again enjoy unlimited servings of shrimp, although this time the promotion is only available for a limited period.

Customers can mix and match from five shrimp selections, including Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, Walt’s Favourite Shrimp, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp and the newly introduced Marry Me Shrimp.

The latest addition takes inspiration from the viral “Marry Me” recipe that has gained widespread popularity online.

Company Says Customer Demand Drove the Decision

Red Lobster chief executive Damola Adamolekun said the company decided to revive the promotion after listening to customers who had repeatedly asked for its return.

According to Adamolekun, the company believes it has found a way to bring back the beloved offer while ensuring it better aligns with the restaurant’s current business goals.

He emphasized that customer feedback played a key role in the decision to reintroduce the promotion.

Bankruptcy Reshaped the Restaurant Chain

The financial fallout from the unsuccessful promotion led to sweeping changes across the business.

More than 100 restaurants were closed as part of the bankruptcy proceedings, reducing Red Lobster’s footprint from nearly 650 locations.

Following the restructuring, the seafood chain was acquired by a new ownership group, which has been working to stabilize operations and rebuild the brand.

Despite the progress, Adamolekun recently acknowledged that Red Lobster has not yet regained the performance levels it enjoyed before entering bankruptcy.

He also indicated that additional underperforming restaurants may be shut down as the company continues to reduce expenses and improve efficiency.

New Leadership Focuses on Rebuilding the Brand

Since taking over, Adamolekun has introduced several initiatives aimed at refreshing Red Lobster’s image and attracting more customers.

The restaurant has updated its menu offerings, rolled out happy hour specials and launched a “red carpet hospitality” program designed to deliver a stronger customer experience.

These changes form part of a broader strategy to modernize the nearly six-decade-old seafood chain while restoring confidence in the brand after one of the most difficult periods in its history.
