The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it has killed Hamam Eid, describing him as the commander of Hamas’ unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) cell operating in the central refugee camps of the Gaza Strip.

According to the Israeli military, the operation targeted an individual it says played a significant role in Hamas’ drone program.

Military Says Eid Oversaw Drone Development

In its statement, the IDF said Eid previously headed Hamas’ drone unit in the central camps before assuming command of the organization’s UAV cell in the same area.

Israeli officials alleged that, in his latest position, he supervised the production of drones intended for use in attacks against Israeli civilians and members of the Israeli military.

Israel Accuses Hamas of Rebuilding Aerial Capabilities

The Israeli military further claimed that Eid had recently been involved in efforts to restore and expand Hamas’ aerial warfare capabilities.

The IDF asserted that these activities were carried out despite the ceasefire agreement currently in place, accusing Hamas of using the period to strengthen its operational infrastructure.

Strike Part of Israel’s Ongoing Campaign Against Hamas Leadership

The reported killing forms part of Israel’s continuing military campaign targeting Hamas commanders, weapons production networks, and operational units.

Israeli authorities maintain that such operations are aimed at disrupting the group’s military capabilities, including its use and development of unmanned aerial systems.

Hamas had not publicly commented on the Israeli military’s claims at the time of the announcement, and the reported details regarding Hamam Eid’s role and death could not be independently verified.
