Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold is at the center of a shocking criminal case after Florida prosecutors accused him of orchestrating a violent revenge plot targeting three young men he believed had stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from him and his associates.
Investigators claim the alleged scheme involved deception, armed assault, kidnapping, and robbery. Arnold has denied all accusations against him.
Prosecutors Say Revenge Plot Was Carefully Planned
According to court filings, the incident stems from a burglary reported days earlier at an Airbnb in Largo, Florida, where Arnold and others claimed approximately $245,000 in cash and valuables had been stolen.
Rather than allowing law enforcement to handle the matter, prosecutors allege Arnold organized a retaliatory operation against three men he suspected were responsible.
Authorities later concluded that the victims had no connection to the earlier theft.
Women Allegedly Used to Lure Victims
Court documents state that Arnold instructed co-defendant Jasmine Randazzo to invite the three men to a Tampa apartment under the pretense of meeting for sexual encounters.
Once inside the apartment, prosecutors allege the victims were ambushed by armed accomplices who had been hiding inside.
Arianna Del Valle, Randazzo’s roommate, allegedly welcomed the visitors before the attackers emerged from a bedroom closet carrying firearms.
Victims Allegedly Beaten at Gunpoint
Investigators say two of the victims were immediately confronted by armed suspects, who struck them repeatedly with weapons while pointing firearms at them.
When a third man arrived at the apartment after becoming concerned about his friends, prosecutors allege he was also attacked in the same manner.
Authorities claim the victims were pistol-whipped, physically assaulted, and robbed of cash, jewelry, wallets, mobile phones, jackets, and other personal belongings.
Livestream and Text Messages Form Key Evidence
One of the more disturbing claims in the prosecution’s case involves an alleged livestream of the assaults.
Prosecutors say Del Valle broadcast video of the attacks to Arnold and other co-defendants as they traveled from Tallahassee toward Tampa.
During the drive, investigators allege Arnold and another defendant exchanged text messages giving instructions to those carrying out the beatings inside the apartment.
After arriving outside the residence, prosecutors claim Arnold and several associates forced the victims into vehicles before fleeing the scene.
Guilty Pleas Strengthen Prosecution’s Case
The investigation has already led to charges against at least seven people.
Randazzo pleaded guilty to kidnapping, armed robbery, and conspiracy charges, receiving a four-year prison sentence after agreeing to cooperate with prosecutors.
Del Valle has also admitted participating in the scheme but has not yet been sentenced.
According to prosecutors, both women identified Arnold as the individual who directed the operation.
Judge Refuses Bail for Arnold
Arnold appeared before a Hillsborough County judge, where prosecutors successfully argued that he should remain in custody while awaiting trial.
He now faces three counts of kidnapping and three counts of armed robbery, charges that could carry a sentence of life imprisonment if he is convicted.
His representative, Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, has maintained Arnold’s innocence and rejected the allegations.
Football Figures Among the Defendants
Several individuals charged in the case have football backgrounds.
Lyndell Hudson previously played offensive line for the University of Florida and Florida International University, while Christion Williams spent time as a defensive back at Hawaii.
Another defendant, Boakai Hilton, is also a former Hawaii football player.
Lions Decline Further Comment
The Detroit Lions acknowledged Arnold’s arrest but have chosen not to comment further, citing the ongoing legal proceedings.
Earlier this year, when questions first surfaced regarding the investigation, head coach Dan Campbell said the organization believed Arnold had not been directly involved based on the information available at the time.
Prosecutors Condemn Alleged Vigilante Justice
State Attorney Suzy Lopez said the case demonstrates the dangers of taking personal revenge instead of relying on the justice system.
She emphasized that disputes over stolen property can never justify kidnapping, violence, or armed retaliation, adding that investigators spent months building the case alongside the Tampa Police Department.
Rising NFL Career Overshadowed
Arnold, a Tallahassee native, played college football at Alabama before being selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Over his first two NFL seasons, he recorded 91 tackles, 18 pass breakups, and one interception.
His future in professional football now remains uncertain as the criminal proceedings move forward.
