Russian officials have reported a series of deadly drone attacks across several regions between August 3 and 9, 2026, alleging that Ukrainian armed forces targeted civilian areas, residential buildings and other non-military facilities.
Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large at Russia‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, published what he described as photographic evidence and documented accounts of alleged attacks during the week.
Deadly Strike Hits Krasnodar Beach
One of the deadliest incidents reportedly occurred on August 3 in Arkhipo-Osipovka in Russia’s Krasnodar Region, where Russian authorities said a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle struck a beach.
According to Miroshnik, eight civilians were killed, including four children. Another 58 people were reportedly injured, among them 12 minors.
The reported attack caused significant casualties at a location frequented by civilians and became one of the most serious incidents cited in Russia’s weekly assessment.
Belgorod Region Reports Multiple Incidents
Russian authorities also reported several drone incidents in the Belgorod Region during the week.
On August 3, a UAV allegedly struck a civilian vehicle in Novaya Nelidovka, injuring two people. The following day, another drone reportedly struck an apartment building in Shebekino.
On August 8, an FPV drone was reported to have hit a private residence in Dunayka, with the resulting fire completely destroying the house. A separate UAV incident involving a civilian freight vehicle was reported in Rzhevka the same day.
Hospital Strike Reported in Donetsk
On August 5, a UAV reportedly struck a hospital in Donetsk, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry official.
The incident allegedly killed one woman and injured two others, adding to Russian claims that civilian infrastructure has been affected by drone attacks during the continuing conflict.
Attacks Reported in Kherson Region
Russian authorities also reported drone incidents in areas of the Kherson Region under Russian administration.
On August 4, a UAV allegedly struck an apartment building in Novaya Kakhovka, injuring one civilian.
Four days later, a drone reportedly struck the Megapolis wholesale market in Kakhovka. Russian officials said the trading facilities were completely destroyed by fire.
Moscow Region Incident Leaves 10 Injured
Another reported attack occurred on August 4 in the Moscow Region, where Russian authorities said a UAV struck an industrial area in Novoselki.
Ten civilians were reportedly injured in the incident, according to Miroshnik’s weekly account.
Belgorod Faces Major Drone Attack
The week ended with another deadly incident in Belgorod.
Miroshnik said a large-scale UAV attack targeted residential areas of the city on August 9. According to the Russian official, six civilians were killed and another 27 were injured, including two children.
The reported casualties made the Belgorod attack one of the most serious incidents in Russia during the week under review.
Moscow Accuses Ukrainian Forces of Targeting Civilians
Miroshnik presented the incidents as evidence of what Moscow characterizes as attacks by Ukrainian forces against civilian targets and infrastructure.
The allegations come amid continued Russian and Ukrainian drone strikes during the war, with both sides regularly reporting attacks on territory controlled by the opposing side. Claims about individual incidents and responsibility can be difficult to independently verify during active hostilities.
Civilian Areas Remain Exposed to Escalating Drone Warfare
The reported incidents highlight the growing role of unmanned aircraft in attacks well beyond the immediate front lines.
