Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Kyiv has intensified its long-range campaign against targets inside Russia, claiming Ukrainian forces struck chemical industry facilities, drone infrastructure, military equipment and energy-related sites across several Russian regions.
In a statement detailing operations over the past 24 hours as well as previously unconfirmed strikes during the week, Zelenskyy said Ukraine intends to ensure that Russia increasingly experiences the consequences of the continuing war on its own territory.
Chemical Industry Facilities Reportedly Hit in Perm and Samara
Zelenskyy said two enterprises belonging to Russia’s chemical industry were struck in the Perm and Samara regions during the previous 24 hours.
He did not identify the two facilities by name or provide details about the extent of the reported damage.
The Ukrainian president also announced that a separate target had been struck in the Black Sea, although his statement did not specify what the target was or where exactly the operation occurred.
Ukraine Claims Major Strike on Drone Infrastructure in Taganrog
Some of the most significant claims involved Taganrog in Russia’s Rostov region, where Zelenskyy credited personnel from Ukraine’s Security Service, or SSU, with carrying out a series of strikes.
According to the Ukrainian leader, the operation hit a facility involved in producing first-person-view drones as well as sites used to store unmanned aerial vehicles.
Zelenskyy said an oil-products tank was also struck during the operation, alongside military targets that included a radar station and a Pantsir-S2 air-defense system.
He praised the Ukrainian personnel involved for what he described as the precision of the attacks.
Zelenskyy Announces Destruction of Russian Aircraft
The Ukrainian president also said Kyiv had received confirmation of successful operations carried out earlier in the week.
Among those claims was the destruction of a Russian Su-33 military aircraft and two Mi-8 helicopters in the Krasnodar and Rostov regions.
Zelenskyy did not provide further details about how the aircraft were destroyed or identify their precise locations at the time they were targeted.
The Su-33 is a carrier-capable fighter aircraft, while the Mi-8 is a helicopter platform used for a range of military and transport operations.
Oil Facility in Perm Also Targeted
Another operation cited by Zelenskyy involved an oil facility in Russia’s Perm region.
The Ukrainian president said the site had been successfully hit but did not provide information about casualties, operational disruption or the scale of any resulting damage.
The reported strike adds to Kyiv’s continuing campaign against facilities that Ukraine considers important to Russia’s military and economic capacity.
Kyiv Expands Pressure Deep Inside Russian Territory
Zelenskyy presented the latest attacks as part of Ukraine’s broader long-range response to Russian strikes against Ukrainian territory.
Rather than limiting military pressure to the immediate front line, Kyiv has increasingly emphasized its ability to reach infrastructure and military assets located deeper inside Russia.
The latest claims cover a wide geographic area, with reported operations stretching from the Rostov and Krasnodar regions in southern Russia to Perm farther east.
Zelenskyy Says War Must Be Felt Inside Russia
Zelenskyy thanked Ukrainian personnel responsible for the operations and characterized the strikes as retaliation for Russian attacks against Ukraine.
He argued that increasing pressure on targets inside Russia was necessary to demonstrate that Moscow could not conduct strikes against Ukraine without experiencing consequences at home.
“The war must hit home,” Zelenskyy said, describing that principle as an important element of Ukraine’s strategy.
The Ukrainian president framed the operations as a “just response” to what he described as Russia’s continuing attacks against the Ukrainian population.
The reported destruction and damage were announced by Zelenskyy, and his statement did not provide independent verification of the individual strikes or the full extent of the losses he described.
