The Israel Defense Forces has announced the killing of several Hamas operatives in Gaza, including the commander of the group’s Khan Younis Brigade and the alleged head of a sniper cell operating within its Rafah Brigade.
In separate statements issued on September 11, the Israeli military said those targeted had been involved in organizing attacks, rebuilding Hamas capabilities and preparing operatives to target Israeli civilians and IDF troops.

According to the IDF, Muhammad Yazouri, identified by the military as commander of Hamas’ Khan Younis Brigade, was killed alongside two other members of the same formation.
The IDF identified the other two as Hudheifa Muammar, whom it described as a company commander, and Muhammad Bahjat Rashi, whom it identified as another operative in the brigade.
Israel’s military said Yazouri had occupied several senior positions within the Khan Younis Brigade before becoming its commander.
Yazouri Previously Held Intelligence and Combat Support Roles
The IDF said Yazouri’s previous positions included deputy commander of the brigade, commander of its Combat Support Battalion and head of the brigade’s intelligence department.
According to the Israeli military, those positions gave him significant responsibilities within Hamas’ operations in the Khan Younis area.
The IDF alleged that in recent months Yazouri had overseen the activities of operatives belonging to the brigade and directed preparations for attacks against Israeli civilians and Israeli troops.
The military did not provide additional details in its statement about the circumstances of the strike that killed Yazouri and the other two men.
Rafah Brigade Sniper Cell Chief Also Targeted
In a separate announcement, the IDF said it had killed Moamen Jabr Al-Sayed Abu Labda, whom it identified as the head of a sniper cell belonging to Hamas’ Rafah Brigade.
Israeli forces accused Abu Labda of conducting sniper training across the Gaza Strip.
According to the military, the training was intended to prepare Hamas operatives to carry out attacks against both Israeli civilians and IDF personnel.
