Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine’s drone operations were responsible for eliminating more than 30,000 Russian troops during July, describing unmanned systems as a continuing key element of Kyiv’s battlefield strategy.
In a statement, Zelenskyy said the reported figure includes both Russian personnel killed and those seriously wounded, adding that only incidents supported by clear video evidence were counted.
Video-Verified Figures Used in Monthly Assessment
According to the Ukrainian president, frontline units from Ukraine’s Defense and Security Forces recorded a total of 30,272 Russian casualties during the month through drone operations alone.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the statistics were based exclusively on engagements that had been visually documented, presenting the figure as a conservative assessment rather than an estimate.
Kyiv Plans to Increase Drone Capabilities
The president said the overall battlefield trend remains consistent, claiming that Russian forces continue to sustain losses of approximately 30,000 troops each month.
He added that Ukraine intends to further expand the deployment of drones across its military units, signaling continued investment in unmanned technologies as part of its defense strategy.
Air Defense Remains Ukraine’s Highest Priority
Alongside discussing drone operations, Zelenskyy thanked Ukrainian service members defending the country and expressed appreciation to international partners supplying air defense missiles.
He stressed that strengthening Ukraine’s air defense network remains the government‘s foremost priority, arguing that every new package of missile systems provided by allied nations directly contributes to protecting civilian lives amid ongoing Russian attacks.
