Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a new series of long-range strikes targeting facilities inside Russia that Kyiv says support Moscow’s military operations and help finance its war effort.
The overnight attacks, according to Zelenskyy, were part of Ukraine’s ongoing strategy to disrupt critical infrastructure linked to Russian military logistics, fuel supplies, and drone operations.
Strategic Targets Hit in Saratov Region
Among the locations reportedly struck were two major facilities in Russia’s Saratov region, situated more than 600 kilometers from the front lines.
Zelenskyy said the targets included the Saratov Oil Refinery and the Engels military air base, a facility that has previously been associated with Russian long-range aviation operations. The reported strikes underscore Ukraine’s ability to reach targets far beyond the immediate battlefield.
Oil Storage Facility Targeted in Kaluga Region
Ukraine also claimed responsibility for an attack on infrastructure in Russia’s Kaluga region.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian forces struck the tank farm of the Lyudinovskaya oil depot, a facility used for storing petroleum products. Energy-related sites have increasingly become targets in the conflict as both sides seek to affect each other’s logistical and industrial capabilities.
Drone Operations Site Reportedly Hit in Bryansk
In a separate operation, Ukrainian forces reportedly conducted a precision strike in Russia’s Bryansk region.
Zelenskyy stated that the targeted location was being used to store, prepare, and launch attack drones. Such facilities have become a growing focus of Ukrainian long-range operations as drone warfare continues to play a significant role in the conflict.
Ukrainian Forces Praised for Precision Strikes
The Ukrainian president praised members of the country’s Defense Forces for carrying out the attacks and for expanding Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities.
He described the operations as evidence of Ukraine’s increasing ability to conduct precise strikes against strategic targets located deep inside Russian territory.
Kyiv Signals Intent to Increase Pressure on Russian Infrastructure
Zelenskyy framed the latest attacks as part of a broader effort to bring the consequences of the war closer to the infrastructure supporting Russia’s military campaign.
“We are bringing the war back to where it came from,” he said, suggesting that Ukraine intends to continue targeting facilities it believes contribute to Russia’s ability to sustain military operations.
The announcement reflects Kyiv’s continued emphasis on striking logistical, energy, and military assets beyond the front lines as the conflict enters another phase of long-range warfare.
