Former Big Brother contestant Narinder Kaur, who appeared in season two of the reality show, recently shared an upsetting experience she had while flying to India.
The 51-year-old paid £1,000 for her Air India flight and described a disturbing incident in which she was allegedly “kicked, punched, and verbally abused” by a fellow passenger.
According to Narinder, the dispute began when she reclined her seat to sleep, only for the passenger behind her to violently push her forward.
Describing the Incident: ‘Air Rage Is Real’
Narinder took to X to explain how the passenger behind her reacted with aggression as she tried to enjoy her flight. “Air rage is real, and I had a terrible experience,” she wrote.
She explained that the woman behind her pushed her seat forward while she was asleep, then continued to kick, punch, and verbally berate her.
“She literally flung me forward, and I didn’t have my belt on,” Narinder shared, adding that the passenger wasn’t intoxicated and could have handled the situation more respectfully.
Seeking Action: Questioning Airline Policies on Unruly Passengers
In a follow-up post, Narinder expressed her frustration with the airline, saying Air India staff failed to offer her any support or options for pressing charges against the unruly passenger.
“Why are there no legal consequences for violent passengers?” she asked, raising concerns about who should have jurisdiction to handle such incidents: the airline’s operating country, the departure or arrival country, or the passenger’s own nation.
Voicing Her Side: ‘I Paid £1,000 and Shouldn’t Have to Sit Upright’
Narinder, known for her frank and outspoken personality, shared that the incident left her feeling disrespected. “I didn’t pay £1,000 to sit upright the entire flight,” she said, explaining that she was unaware food service was happening at the time and felt she had plenty of space, as the person in front of her was also reclined. Her post has sparked a conversation on social media, with some supporting her while others have mixed views on the etiquette of seat reclining during flights.
A Look Back: Narinder’s Life Since *Big Brother*
Narinder first entered the public eye in Big Brother season two, eventually publishing a tell-all book titled Big Brother – The Inside Story in 2007.
Over the years, she has presented on London’s Lyca Radio and made appearances on shows like Jeremy Vine, GB News, and Talk TV. Earlier this year, she was also part of a heated debate on Good Morning Britain about whether children should be paid to do household chores.
Debate on *Good Morning Britain*: Kids and Household Chores
On Good Morning Britain, Narinder faced off against Big Brother’s Kerry Riches in a debate on whether kids should receive payment for helping around the house. Kerry, an NHS manager, argued that giving kids a financial incentive builds pride, while Narinder countered that it sets an unhealthy expectation, saying, “You won’t be rewarded for everything in life.”
Though the debate was intense, the two ended on a lighthearted note, forming a heart with their hands in a friendly gesture.
Public Support Backs Narinder on Twitter Poll
Following the debate, GMB ran a Twitter poll asking viewers if kids should be paid for doing household chores. The results leaned in Narinder’s favor, with 62% of viewers agreeing that paying kids for basic tasks could send the wrong message about responsibility.
Air India was reached for comment on Narinder’s in-flight experience.
