A Metropolitan Police officer has been dismissed without notice after a misconduct hearing found that his podcast and social media activity repeatedly breached professional standards expected of serving officers.
PC Idominik Efeotor, who served with the Metropolitan Police’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, was removed from the force following an accelerated misconduct hearing held on Monday.
The case centred on online material published between 2024 and 2026 in which Efeotor identified himself as a serving police officer while discussing colleagues and making allegations about conduct within the force.
Podcast Initially Declared as Business Interest
Efeotor had initially informed the Metropolitan Police about his podcast by declaring it as a business interest.
However, permission for the activity was subsequently withdrawn, according to information presented during the misconduct proceedings.
Despite that decision, Efeotor continued producing material across his podcast and social media accounts.
The force said he was warned several times about his online activity but continued uploading content.
Videos Raised Allegations of Racism and Corruption
Some of Efeotor’s most contentious material involved allegations about the Metropolitan Police itself.
In videos published on TikTok, he discussed what he described as corruption and racism within the force.
One recording included an allegation that there was “discrimination across the board” within the Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards.
His online commentary also extended to individual colleagues and senior officers, creating further concerns about whether his conduct was compatible with his responsibilities as a serving officer.
Senior Colleague Described as a ‘Wasteman’
Among the material considered during the hearing was a video in which Efeotor referred to a senior colleague as a “wasteman”.
Other content was found to contain language described during the proceedings as offensive, insulting and derogatory.
The Metropolitan Police argued that such public comments had consequences beyond the individuals directly criticised, potentially damaging relationships among colleagues and affecting confidence in the organisation.
Confidentiality Concerns Added to Misconduct Case
The proceedings were not limited to Efeotor’s language or criticism of the force.
Scotland Yard said he also published material that could potentially have revealed the identity of another officer who was protected by an anonymity direction.
That raised a separate issue concerning confidentiality and the responsibilities placed on police officers when handling information connected with colleagues or official proceedings.
The combination of his public statements, continued posting after warnings and the potential identification of an anonymised officer contributed to the misconduct findings.
Repeated Warnings Failed to Stop Online Activity
The Metropolitan Police said Efeotor had been warned on multiple occasions about the content he was publishing.
Nevertheless, he continued producing and distributing material online.
That persistence became an important part of the disciplinary case, with the misconduct panel considering not only the nature of the original posts but also his failure to comply with instructions concerning his social media activity.
The hearing ultimately concluded that his conduct breached several standards of professional behaviour.
Panel Finds Multiple Professional Standards Breached
The misconduct panel found breaches relating to discreditable conduct as well as orders and instructions.
It also concluded that Efeotor had failed to meet required standards concerning authority, respect and courtesy, while his handling of information amounted to a breach involving confidentiality.
The findings resulted in his immediate dismissal rather than a lesser disciplinary sanction.
Efeotor was dismissed without notice and will also be barred from returning to policing.
Met Commander Says Conduct Damaged Public Confidence
Commander Adam Slonecki said the former officer had breached Metropolitan Police social media standards repeatedly despite receiving warnings about his behaviour.
According to Slonecki, the consequences extended beyond potential reputational damage to the force.
He said Efeotor’s public criticism had caused a harmful and lasting impact on people targeted by his comments as well as other colleagues.
Slonecki argued that conduct of this kind undermines public confidence in the Metropolitan Police and said Efeotor’s behaviour and values were incompatible with those expected within policing.
Dismissal Ends Efeotor’s Metropolitan Police Career
The decision brings Efeotor’s service with the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command to an immediate end and prevents him from continuing a career in policing.
The case also highlights the increasingly complicated boundaries between police officers’ personal online activities and the professional standards attached to their public role.
While serving officers can maintain personal social media accounts and participate in outside activities subject to relevant rules, the Metropolitan Police maintained that Efeotor repeatedly crossed those boundaries.
After warnings failed to change his behaviour, the misconduct process concluded that dismissal and a policing ban were the appropriate consequences.
