Only hours after saying he has to get back to the States for a “urgent family matter,” Travis Barker posted cryptic photos from the prayer room at Glasgow Airport. After hearing that Blink-182 would be postponing their UK tour, which was set to begin in Glasgow on September 1, the 47-year-old drummer resorted to prayer.

The tour date has been pushed back till after the group’s September 5 engagement in Dublin, it was announced.Barker uploaded the touching photos to Instagram to share with his 8.2 million followers. The first photo is of a door with the words “Prayer room” written in yellow paint. Everyone is invited. Then he showed an image of a tapestry with the words “Together we pray” on it and another of a stained glass window reminiscent of those found in churches. The artist has been tight-lipped about the nature of his issue, but it comes as his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, is in the latter stages of her pregnancy and is due to give birth any day now at the ripe old age of 44.

The band, who were scheduled to play their final show of the tour at London’s O2 Arena on October 12, announced the news on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing, “Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States.”We are delaying our performances in Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin. As soon as we have further details, we will share them with you on his planned return to Europe and the new performance dates.Travis was photographed on a stroll with his pregnant wife the week prior to his outing with friends on Monday night in Calabasas.Due any time between late October and December, Kardashian has been noticeably absent from social media since the tour was canceled.

While Barker already has two children from a previous relationship—19-year-old son Landon and 17-year-old daughter Alabama—this will be the couple’s first child together. To date, Kardashian and ex-husband Scott Disick have produced three children: 13-year-old Mason, 10-year-old Penelope, and 8-year-old Reign. The band’s and Travis’s respective publicists have been approached by MailOnline for comment.

This post comes just a few days after Travis shared a series of photographs on his Instagram stories commemorating the 14th anniversary of his friend DJ AM’s terrible death.Notable for their work together, Travis and DJ AM went on to start their own group, TRV$DJAM.Barker included references to Adam Michael Goldstein, the star’s real name, in his stories as a way to honor his memory.

His body was discovered in his New York City residence on August 28, 2009, from an apparent drug overdose. He was 36 years old.He posted three vintage black and white photos of DJ AM but did not title them. When they were the only two people to survive a plane crash, tragedy brought them together. Before that, they had many opportunities to play together live, including at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. Before focusing on his solo career, DJ AM was a member of the group Crazy Town from 1999 to 2001.In 2003, he started dating Nicole Richie, Lionel Richie’s daughter, and his career took off.Blink-182 took a break in 2005, and Adam, who had struggled with drug addiction his whole life, joined Barker, the band’s drummer, in forming TRV$DJAM.

In June 2008, they began playing at The Roxy Theater in Los Angeles, and on August 27, 2008, they released their first mixtape, titled Fix Your Face, over the Internet. The group’s performance at the T-Mobile Block Party in Columbia, South Carolina, was on September 19, 2008.After that, they boarded a Learjet 60 in South Carolina with assistant Chris Baker, security guard Charles Still, and two pilots en route to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, shortly after liftoff, the plane crashed due to an unexpected emergency.

The crash was later blamed on ‘faulty tires,’ as reported by Billboard. Baker and Still, along with the two pilots, were killed in the horrible accident, while Travis and DJ AM survived. Both were burned to the third degree when the plane caught fire, and they were flown to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Georgia for treatment. According to Today, DJ AM discussed the tragic incident in a previous interview with People. While taxiing to the runway, I kicked off my shoes and slept off. We crashed into something, and that’s the next thing I remember,’ he said. When I opened my eyes, Travis was shouting and the jet was on fire.

Like in “Miami Vice,” where the automobile is on fire and the protagonists had to flee the scene before the fuel tank bursts, I recall thinking, “We have to get out of here!” Adam went on to say, Travis lurched at the door and slid down the burning wing on his bottom. As I jumped through a flame, I desperately tried to shield my face. After falling, I immediately remembered the phrase “Stop, drop, and roll,” and began doing so. After putting out the flames on his own body, he rushed over to Barker to do the same. I lost my eyebrows and some of the skin on my face in the fire. My arm was ripped open and skin was missing from my forehead. I was so stunned that I couldn’t feel a thing. Travis had previously described the harrowing moment in an interview with Larry King, saying, “The landing gear popped, it sounded like gunshots.”It sounded like a gun was being fired just near to my head.

The plane quickly began a downward spiral after that. For all intents and purposes, the plane would take off, plummet to the ground, and then re-enter the atmosphere. The artist said, “Each time we hit the ground the flames and smoke would get bigger, and by the time we made our final impact the plane was completely ablaze.” We were a blazing orb in the sky, and I for one was ready for bedtime. Both Travis and DJ AM decided against flying in the wake of the incident. In 2021, however, the drummer and Kourtney Kardashian conquered their fears and took a flight to Italy.

This was only his second flight after the accident; his first was to Cabo. From above, Travis had posted a snapshot of the nighttime earth below, and then he had posted a picture of DJ AM. Barker once told Men’s Health that he and DJ AM were “each other’s therapists” after the crash and that “it was just him and me.” After he departed, he said, “Oh, f**k.” In my group, I’m the only member. It’s just me, and I figure things out on my own. The two went on to pursue their own careers after their respective recoveries, and they shared a stage at the New Year’s Nation L.A. party in 2008.

After leaving his job as a DJ at Caesar’s Palace, Adam found work at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. In Iron Man 2, he made a brief foray into the film industry, appearing as himself in the role of a DJ at Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.’s) party. Gone Too Far, a reality show about a drug intervention, with him as the host.

The episodes began airing soon after his passing. After struggling with drug abuse since he was a child and making a suicide attempt at age 24, the singer finally got clean and got the care he needed. In an essay for Glamour published in January 2008, DJ AM discussed his drug use and weight problems openly. He began abusing narcotics at age 14, when he was dubbed “the fat kid from Philadelphia,” and continued to do so for the following two years, until he finally requested his mother to send him to treatment.

But he continued, “Unbeknownst to my mother, the place was an abusive house of horrors that would ultimately be shut down.” When he finally left, he was eighteen years old.I went to a few meetings after I got out of rehab, but I was using again within five months. I started going to meetings again and cut ties with people I knew who were still using drugs.

Deejaying sober was the most challenging adjustment. He admitted helping out at Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio birthday bashes. Although my sobriety improved over the years, I lost all control of my eating habits. I reached a high of 324 pounds by the time I was 30 and decided to have “gastric bypass surgery” because I despised my body so much. I’m 34 now, and it’s been nine and a half years since I drank or did drugs, Adam stated in his essay. However, I have to constantly remind myself that, despite the passage of time, I am still a drug addict. At any given moment, I’m five seconds away from coming up to someone, taking their drink out of their hand and downing it. And if I do that, I’ll be smoking crack in a week at the most. In an interview with MTV from July 2008, he revealed that while filming Gone Too Far, he had “a flashback.”

To prove that it was possible, he had gone into a New York convenience store and purchased a crack pipe. My hands started to sweat. When I realized that I shouldn’t be in possession of such a thing, I began to freak out and feel the need to release some pent-up frustration. And that kind of reintroduced that image to me,’ he said, as quoted by ABC News. A crack pipe and empty medication bottles were reportedly beside him when his body was discovered in his Manhattan apartment on August 28, 2009. However, his death was later declared an accident. His funeral and burial were place at the Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles on September 2, 2009. The funeral was held the next day, and many notable people, including Travis Barker, Robert Downey Jr., Lindsay Lohan, and Adam’s family, paid their respects.
