Bill Belichick delivered a sharp response to a reporter who questioned him about his reported separation from Jordon Hudson during a press conference on Monday.

The 74-year-old University of North Carolina head coach was asked about reports that he and his 25-year-old girlfriend had quietly ended their relationship, prompting an irritated reaction from the eight-time Super Bowl winner.

“Do you work for a tabloid now?” Belichick replied.

He then made it clear that he had no intention of discussing the matter publicly, adding: “I’ll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that’s alright with you.”

The exchange came after reports emerged that the couple had secretly separated towards the end of last year.

Hudson Reportedly Moves On Following Separation

According to TMZ, Belichick and Hudson brought their relationship to an end late last year, although the circumstances surrounding the breakup and who initiated it remain unclear.

The publication also reported that Hudson has been seeing other people since the relationship ended. However, the former couple are said to have maintained a close friendship.

News of the separation emerged on Friday evening, shortly before North Carolina faced Miami in a closely contested college football game.

Hudson was notably absent from the Tar Heels’ clash, despite regularly appearing on the sidelines throughout Belichick’s time with the university.

Couple’s Relationship Began in 2022

Belichick and Hudson reportedly first met aboard a flight from Boston to Florida in 2022, before beginning their relationship.

Their first photographs together emerged in January 2023, although they did not publicly confirm their romance until June 2024.

The pair subsequently divided their time between North Carolina, where Belichick coaches the Tar Heels, and Nantucket.

Hudson became a familiar presence at UNC football games, regularly appearing alongside players and members of the coaching staff during home and away fixtures.

She was also seen with Belichick at the team‘s game against Syracuse in Chapel Hill the previous weekend.

A week earlier, the pair had attended the road fixture against Duke, where they were photographed smiling together as they left the field.

Public Appearance Raised Questions About Timing of Split

Despite reports that their relationship had ended towards the close of 2025, Belichick and Hudson were also seen holding hands during a public appearance at the Kentucky Derby in May.

Hudson subsequently shared a photograph from the occasion, accompanying it with the caption: “Not the first time we’ve trudged through the mud together,” alongside a love-heart emoji.

The appearance came months after the reported separation, although the exact circumstances surrounding their relationship at the time have not been established.

It remains unclear whether Hudson will return to her previous position on the sidelines following the public disclosure of their breakup.

Hudson’s Property Portfolio Reaches $9 Million

During her relationship with Belichick, Hudson acquired a property portfolio reportedly worth approximately $9 million, according to the Daily Mail.

She purchased at least four properties after meeting the former New England Patriots coach, including one valued at $3 million.

Reports also indicate that she has paid off the mortgages on all the properties.

Her primary residence is listed as a two-bedroom cottage in Cape Cod.

Belichick’s Previous Long-Term Relationships

Before beginning his relationship with Hudson, Belichick was married to Debby for 30 years.

Their marriage ended before the 2004 NFL season.

He subsequently entered a relationship with Linda Holliday in 2007.

The pair remained together for approximately 16 years before their relationship ended in 2022.

Hudson Absent as North Carolina Faces Miami

Hudson’s absence from Saturday’s game against Miami marked a departure from her regular presence at UNC fixtures this season.

She had attended every home game and several away matches during Belichick’s tenure, frequently attracting attention on the sidelines.

The Tar Heels faced the country’s top-ranked college football team in front of a lively crowd in Chapel Hill but suffered a narrow defeat.

Belichick, meanwhile, maintained his usual matchday routine, wearing his North Carolina hoodie as he directed his players throughout the contest.

The university is scheduled to host No. 1-ranked Miami again in Chapel Hill on Saturday night, with Hudson’s potential return to the sidelines yet to be established.
