In anticipation of President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Ogun State for a meeting with paramount traditional rulers, tight security measures have been implemented.
Reports indicate that security operatives are stationed at the palace of the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, as the monarchs eagerly await the arrival of the Nigerian leader.
Schedule and Location of the Meetings
The scheduled meetings involve Tinubu’s discussions with the Alake in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, followed by a meeting with the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, in Ijebu-Ode.
Heavy Security Presence at the Alake Palace
According to Daily Post, there is a notable presence of security operatives at the Alake palace to ensure the safety of the president and his entourage.
Security personnel, including the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Service (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), are seen screening individuals entering the palace.
The roads leading to the palace are also monitored by security agents, with minimal disruption to public transport.
Monarchs Await President’s Arrival
As preparations continue, the Alake, along with other monarchs and chiefs, are already present at the palace, eagerly awaiting the arrival of President Tinubu.
However, at the time of reporting, the president had yet to enter the state.
