Tiger Woods and his former wife, Elin Nordegren, reunited on Friday to celebrate their son Charlie’s commitment to Florida State University, where he is set to begin playing college golf in 2027.

The 17-year-old, who attends the Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida, marked the occasion with a signing day ceremony attended by both parents.

Tiger and Nordegren posed alongside their son and his coach, Toby Harbeck, wearing Florida State colours.

Charlie is preparing to complete his high school career before making the move to Tallahassee to join the Seminoles’ golf programme.

Woods Targets Third State Championship Title

Charlie is also hoping to finish his time at the Benjamin School with another state championship victory this month.

The school’s golf team has remained unbeaten this season, with Charlie serving as one of its captains.

Nordegren has consistently supported the team throughout its campaign, according to the Daily Mail.

The teenager is targeting his third state championship title in four seasons with the Buccaneers.

Tiger is also expected to attend the competition at Mission Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills to support his son.

The 15-time major champion has played an active role in Charlie’s development, previously caddying for him, helping improve his short game and sharing advice with other members of the Benjamin School team.

Tiger has also attended every state championship in which his son has competed.

Tiger Woods Expected to Return to Competitive Golf in December

While celebrating his son’s college commitment, Woods is also preparing for a possible return to competitive golf following an extended absence.

The 50-year-old has not competed in a professional tournament since missing the cut at The Open Championship at Royal Troon in 2024 because of injury problems.

According to ESPN, Woods is expected to feature for his Jupiter Links Golf Club team when the new TGL season begins on December 27.

They are scheduled to face Los Angeles Golf Club in an opening-day doubleheader that will be broadcast on ABC.

His participation will depend on his physical condition and whether he experiences any further injury setbacks.

Woods featured in just one match during the second season of TGL because of another back operation.

He returned for the Finals, where Jupiter Links lost to Los Angeles Golf Club.

Hero World Challenge and PNC Championship Remain Possible

Woods could return to competitive action before the TGL season begins if he decides to participate in the Hero World Challenge.

The tournament, which he hosts in the Bahamas, is scheduled to take place from December 3 to 6.

Another possible appearance could come at the PNC Championship in Orlando, running from December 17 to 20, where he could compete alongside Charlie.

The golfer has been photographed increasing his training activities in recent weeks as he works towards a return.

Woods’ Recent Legal Issues and Relationship Developments

Woods’ return to golf comes after a difficult year that included his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence following a crash in late March.

In September, he pleaded no contest to the charges and reached an agreement with prosecutors that will prevent him from driving for five years.

He subsequently spent time at a rehabilitation facility in Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Woods has been in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, the mother of Charlie’s schoolmate Kai Trump, since the relationship was first reported in March 2025.

Reports have also suggested that the couple have discussed marriage.

Vanessa recently revealed that she had breast cancer. Woods was subsequently pictured with Vanessa, her daughter Kai and son Donny beside the bell she rang to mark receiving the all-clear, with a congratulatory banner displayed above it.
