First Lady Melania Trump is set to return to screens with a two-episode documentary series expanding on her film released earlier this year, with Amazon Prime Video confirming a November premiere.

The upcoming episodes will feature previously unreleased footage from the original documentary, offering additional scenes from Melania’s personal life and her preparations for returning to the White House.

Amazon Confirms November Release Date

Melania, 56, and Prime Video released a new trailer on Friday, November 6, announcing the two-part follow-up to her documentary, MELANIA, which premiered in January 2026.

According to a press release, both episodes will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from November 20.

Brett Ratner, who directed the original theatrical documentary, also directed the forthcoming episodes.

The new production will extend the original film with footage that was not included in its initial release.

Melania Highlights Her Role as a Mother

The trailer features Melania discussing her responsibilities as a mother, wife and First Lady.

“I’m a mother, a wife, also first lady,” she says in one scene.

Another sequence shows her alongside her son, Barron, 20, as she emphasises the importance of their relationship.

“He’s my priority. He will always be my priority,” Melania says.

She also addresses the challenges associated with proximity to political power, warning that people seeking close relationships with influential figures can sometimes pose risks.

“Everybody wants to be close to power and sometimes could be very dangerous,” she says.

Two Episodes Explore Family and Public Service

The follow-up production is divided into two episodes, each examining a different aspect of Melania’s experience as First Lady.

The first instalment, titled Family & Trust, focuses on her preparations for becoming First Lady and the challenges of establishing trust within the White House.

The second episode, Pride & Honor, centres on her commitment to serving the American people in her position as First Lady.

The trailer also features Melania discussing her relationship with the media, expressing frustration with what she considers its focus on personal gossip.

“The media, they want gossip,” she says. “For me, it’s noise.”

Original Documentary Faces Poor Reviews

The announcement comes despite the mixed reception and disappointing box office performance of the original MELANIA documentary.

Released in January 2026, the film generated $16.5 million in worldwide box office revenue.

It also received negative ratings from online reviewers, recording a 1.6 out of 10 score on Prime Video and a nine per cent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Despite the film’s performance, Melania reportedly earned at least $10.7 million from the project, according to President Donald Trump’s latest federal financial disclosure.

Production Costs Estimated at $75 Million

The original documentary reportedly cost approximately $40 million to produce, with another $35 million spent on marketing, bringing the estimated overall expenditure to $75 million.

The financial figures prompted questions about the commercial performance of the project, which generated considerably less revenue than its reported production and promotional costs.

The Amazon deal also attracted criticism from people who alleged that the company was seeking to strengthen its relationship with President Donald Trump and his family.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was among those mentioned in the criticism surrounding the agreement.

The forthcoming two episodes will continue the documentary project, with both scheduled to premiere on November 20.
