Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly considering Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who has announced his intention to leave the club at the end of the season.
Mbappe’s decision has put Real Madrid in pole position to secure the 25-year-old’s signature, prompting PSG to look for suitable alternatives.
Osimhen Emerges as Top Contender on PSG’s Radar
According to reports, PSG has identified Osimhen as a leading candidate to fill Mbappe’s shoes.
The Nigerian striker, valued at around £130 million by Napoli, is considered a key target for the Parisian club.
Despite interest from Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal, PSG is now poised to make a move for Osimhen.
Decision Made on Future, Napoli Exit Likely
Osimhen had previously hinted at his departure from Napoli this summer, despite having a contract with the Serie A side until 2026.
The 25-year-old, who joined Napoli from Lille in 2020, has been a standout performer for the club, particularly in their title-winning campaign last season, where he scored 26 goals in 32 appearances.
Disappointing Season for Napoli
However, this season has been challenging for Napoli, currently sitting in ninth place in Serie A, 25 points behind leaders Inter Milan.
The departure of former coach Luciano Spalletti last summer has contributed to their struggles, with Walter Mazzarri taking over in November.
Osimhen’s relationship with the club was strained earlier in the season when he was substituted during a match against Bologna, leading to a public spat and Napoli posting a controversial video on social media.

Osimhen recently represented Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles reached the final but were defeated by Ivory Coast.
His performances at the tournament further raised his profile, making him an attractive prospect for top clubs across Europe.

With PSG’s interest in Osimhen intensifying, the striker’s future at Napoli looks increasingly uncertain.
