British Passenger Arrested for Assault on Thai Airways Flight from Bangkok to Heathrow

Shocking footage has emerged showing a man assaulting an air steward on a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok to Heathrow.

The incident, which occurred on February 7, began when a British man reportedly started causing a disturbance in the airplane’s toilet, prompting other passengers and cabin crew to intervene.

Altercation and Assault on Board

According to witnesses, the situation quickly escalated, leading to the 35-year-old man’s arrest upon landing in London.

A female passenger, who captured the incident on her phone, described how the man began screaming and shouting in the toilet, eventually breaking the door off its hinges.

An older man attempted to remove him from the toilet, but a fight ensued, culminating in the man punching a steward who fell to the floor.

Passenger Intervention and Subsequent Arrest

The 22-year-old passenger, who recorded the incident, stated that more passengers became involved after the assault. She described how two passengers sat on either side of the man, restraining him as he continued to shout and be verbally abusive.

She added that the situation was so severe that some passengers had to change seats and move children to the back of the plane.

Flight Continues to London

Despite the disturbance, the flight was able to continue to London without diverting to Dubai, as initially considered.

Upon landing, police officers boarded the aircraft and arrested the man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and endangering an aircraft.

Another man was taken to the hospital, although his injuries were deemed not life-threatening.

Investigation and Response

Thai Airways has been approached for comment on the incident.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest and stated that the 35-year-old man remains in custody while investigations are ongoing.
