Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has shared his thoughts on the suspension of Abdulrasheed Bawa, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
President Bola Tinubu made the decision to suspend Bawa indefinitely in order to conduct a thorough investigation into allegations of abuse of office.
The announcement was made by Willie Bassey, the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Bawa Ordered to Hand Over to Director of Operations
As a result of the suspension, Abdulrasheed Bawa was instructed to immediately hand over his responsibilities to the Director of Operations within the EFCC.
This step was taken to facilitate an uninterrupted investigation until its conclusion.
Omokri Supports Tinubu’s Decision
Reno Omokri, in response to the situation, expressed his support for President Tinubu’s decision.
He cited Tinubu’s accomplishments in ending the fuel subsidy regime, averting a nationwide strike, and eliminating multiple exchange rates within just two weeks of assuming office.
Omokri made it clear that as an opposition politician, his role is to criticize the ruling party and offer better alternatives when they go astray.
However, he also emphasized that he is not a secessionist and has no intention of undermining Nigeria.
He expressed his love for the country and his desire to see it succeed.
Omokri’s Commitment to Waziri Atiku Abubakar’s Cause
While supporting President Tinubu’s actions, Omokri reassured his commitment to ensuring that Waziri Atiku Abubakar finds the justice he seeks at the Presidential Election Petition Court.
He reiterated his opposition to the ruling party but emphasized that his goal is to contribute positively to the development and progress of Nigeria.
In response to the suspension of the EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, Reno Omokri expressed his support for President Tinubu’s decision.
Omokri highlighted Tinubu’s achievements and clarified his stance as an opposition politician, committed to offering better alternatives and supporting justice.
He emphasized his love for Nigeria and his dedication to its success.
