Police Arrest Netherton Woman After Body of Woman in Her 50s is Discovered at Residential Property

A 30-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a woman in her 50s who was found dead at a residential property in Netherton, Merseyside.

Police say the investigation remains in its early stages, with officers working to establish the circumstances surrounding the unexplained death.

Emergency Services Respond to Residential Address

Merseyside Police were called to Ambrose Croft in Netherton at approximately 10 a.m. on Sunday after receiving reports of an incident at a property.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a woman believed to be in her 50s. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of death, which will be determined through a post-mortem examination.

Murder Investigation Underway

Following initial inquiries, detectives arrested a 30-year-old woman from Netherton on suspicion of murder.

She remains in police custody while investigators continue questioning and gathering evidence.

Police have described the death as “unexplained” and said inquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what occurred.

Forensic Teams Search the Scene

A significant police presence remained at Ambrose Croft throughout Sunday as detectives and forensic specialists examined the property.

Photographs from the scene showed emergency service vehicles parked along the residential street while sections of the area were sealed off with police cordons.

Forensic investigators were seen entering and leaving the property as evidence collection continued.

Detectives Urge Public Not to Speculate

Detective Inspector Sara Lang expressed condolences to the victim’s family and appealed for patience as the investigation progresses.

She said officers’ thoughts are with the relatives of the deceased during what is an extremely difficult time.

Lang also urged members of the public to avoid speculation while detectives carry out their inquiries, stressing that although an arrest has been made, the investigation remains at an early stage.

Investigators are asking anyone with information that could assist the inquiry to come forward.
