Television personality Scarlett Moffatt has shared the heartbreaking news that her fiancé Scott Dobinson’s mother, Janice, has died, paying tribute to her as a devoted grandmother and a loving member of the family.
The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner revealed the loss in an emotional message on social media, saying she was devastated that Janice would never have the opportunity to meet her second grandson.
Emotional Tribute to a Cherished Family Member
Posting on Instagram on Sunday, Scarlett described Janice as an exceptional grandmother to her two-year-old son Jude and thanked her for the warmth and kindness she had shown since the beginning of her relationship with Scott.
She wrote that her heart was broken for Scott and the entire Dobinson family, adding that Janice had always made her feel welcome and loved.
Scarlett also reflected on the close bond Janice shared with Jude, saying she would always treasure the care and affection she gave to their first child.
‘You Raised True Gentlemen’
In her tribute, Scarlett praised Janice for the values she instilled in her family, saying she had raised “true gentlemen” in both of her sons.
She said the family’s loss was impossible to put into words and expressed hope that Janice would continue watching over them, concluding her message by wishing her peace.
Family Preparing for Arrival of Second Child
The announcement comes just months after Scarlett and Scott revealed they are expecting their second child together.
The couple, who have been in a relationship since 2018, welcomed their first son, Jude, in June 2023 following a lengthy fertility journey.
Earlier this year, Scarlett confirmed the couple are expecting another boy, saying she was thrilled Jude would grow up with a younger brother.
Scarlett Says She Always Hoped for Another Son
Speaking previously about the pregnancy, Scarlett admitted she had secretly wished for another boy, explaining that while the baby’s health was the most important thing, she loved the idea of giving Jude a brother to share his childhood with.
She described herself as someone who was “born to be a boy mum” and said she was excited to watch the siblings grow up together.
Pregnancy Announcement Followed Years of Fertility Challenges
Scarlett first announced the pregnancy in April with a video featuring Scott and Jude celebrating the family’s latest milestone while holding up an ultrasound image.
The television presenter said the couple felt “unbelievably lucky” to be expanding their family after overcoming years of fertility struggles before the birth of their first child.
She said their hearts were “fuller than ever” as they prepared to welcome another baby.
Star Opens Up About Difficult First Trimester
While sharing updates during her pregnancy, Scarlett also spoke candidly about the challenges she faced in the early months.
She revealed that her first trimester had been particularly difficult, with persistent nausea, migraines, and hot and cold flushes making work commitments especially demanding.
Despite the difficult start, Scarlett later thanked fans for their supportive messages and said she was grateful to be feeling much better as her pregnancy progressed.
