Nigerian academic Ogechi Adeola has earned a place among Rwanda’s top-performing researchers after being named one of the country’s Top 10 Scientists in the 2026 AD Scientific Index.
The recognition also identifies her as Rwanda’s highest-ranked researcher in the field of Business and Management, highlighting her growing influence in academic research and innovation.
Recognition Highlights Research Excellence
Adeola, who serves as Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Enterprise at University of Kigali, received the distinction in recognition of her sustained contributions to scholarly research and academic impact.
The university said the latest ranking reflects her continued commitment to advancing knowledge through research, innovation, and institutional leadership, noting that her work has strengthened both the university’s academic profile and its international reputation.
Builds on Earlier Global Recognition
The latest achievement follows another major milestone earlier this year, when Adeola was included in the 2025 Stanford–Elsevier World’s Top 2% Scientists list, a globally recognized ranking of influential researchers.
Her consecutive international recognitions underscore a sustained record of scholarly excellence and reinforce her standing among Africa’s leading academics in business and management research.

In a statement, the University of Kigali praised Adeola’s accomplishments, describing them as evidence of the transformative role that research and innovation play in addressing societal challenges.

AD Scientific Index Measures Global Research Impact
The AD Scientific Index evaluates researchers based on their scientific productivity, citation performance, and overall academic influence.
According to the index, it assesses more than 2.6 million scientists affiliated with approximately 24,000 institutions across 221 countries, recognizing researchers whose work has demonstrated long-term scholarly impact.

The University of Kigali congratulated Adeola on the recognition, describing it as an important milestone for both the scholar and the institution.
University officials said the achievement reflects her outstanding contribution to higher education and research while enhancing the institution’s visibility on the international academic stage.
