Netflix is reportedly moving ahead with plans to revive the hugely successful The Inbetweeners franchise, with the streaming platform said to have secured commitments from the show’s four original male stars.
However, industry attention has now shifted to whether Emily Atack will also return, as executives are reportedly eager to reunite the complete cast for a new feature film.
Original Cast Reportedly Set for a Comeback
According to reports, Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison have all agreed to reprise their iconic roles in what is expected to be a third Inbetweeners movie.
The comedy series became one of Britain’s most popular sitcoms after airing between 2008 and 2010 before expanding into two successful films.
Rumours of another instalment have surfaced several times over the years, but recent reports suggest the project is now gathering real momentum, with a script already completed and production preparations underway.
Emily Atack Seen as the Missing Piece
Despite the reported return of the four leading actors, Netflix executives are said to be determined to bring Emily Atack back as Charlotte Hinchcliffe, better known to fans as “Big Jugs.”
Sources claim that while audiences would already welcome the reunion of the original male cast, producers believe Atack’s involvement would make the revival feel complete.
Insiders reportedly describe her return as one of the final elements they hope to secure before cameras begin rolling.

The renewed interest in Atack comes several years after she was reportedly excluded from an earlier Inbetweeners reunion event.
At the time, media reports alleged that James Buckley had objected to appearing alongside Atack because of a brief romantic relationship they reportedly shared while both were single during the original series’ production.
It was claimed Buckley presented producers with an ultimatum, although none of those involved publicly confirmed the reports.

During an interview with Capital FM, she acknowledged that the cast is now much older than when the programme first aired.
