Mkhwebane’s qualifications

The EFF has said that Mkhwebane “boasts a rich history in civil service, including key roles as a Senior Researcher for the SAHRC, Senior Investigator in the Office of the Public Protector, and Director in the Department of Home Affairs.”

Why was Mkhwebane axed?

Mkhwebane was removed from her position as Public Protector after the National Assembly voted in favor of her dismissal. The vote came after a Section 194 Committee found that Mkhwebane was not fit to hold office.

Mkhwebane’s reaction to her dismissal

Mkhwebane has said that she will challenge her dismissal in court. She has also accused the Section 194 Committee of being biased against her.
