Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine has carried out a series of long-range strikes against strategic targets deep inside Russia, describing the attacks as part of Kyiv’s broader effort to weaken Moscow’s ability to wage war.
In a statement posted on social media, Zelenskyy said the latest strikes produced “significant results” and thanked the Ukrainian units involved for what he described as accurate attacks.
Roscosmos-Linked Progress Center Hit in Samara Region
According to Zelenskyy, one of the targets was the Progress Center in Russia’s Samara region, a major enterprise associated with Roscosmos.
He said the facility was involved, among other activities, in electronics production and was struck using Flamingo missiles. Zelenskyy placed the target roughly 900 kilometers from Ukraine’s border, highlighting the range of the operation.
The Ukrainian president characterized the strike as a significant achievement as Kyiv continues to develop capabilities for attacks far beyond the immediate battlefield.
Savasleyka Airbase Also Targeted
Zelenskyy also reported that Ukrainian long-range strikes reached the Savasleyka airbase, located approximately 700 kilometers from Ukraine.
He said the facility is used by Russian aircraft that serve as carriers for missiles launched against Ukrainian cities and villages. The claim suggests Kyiv is seeking to target not only industrial infrastructure but also military facilities associated with Russia’s long-range attacks on Ukraine.
The president did not provide detailed information about the extent of the damage at the airbase.
Damage Reported at Ust-Luga Oil Facility
Another reported target was an oil facility in Ust-Luga, a major Russian port area on the Baltic Sea.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine had received confirmation that the intended damage was inflicted on the facility, which he said is located more than 800 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.
The Ust-Luga area has previously been strategically important to Russia because of its energy and export infrastructure, making facilities there potentially significant targets in Kyiv’s campaign against Russian economic and military resources.
Kyiv Frames Strikes as Long-Range Sanctions
Zelenskyy described the attacks as part of Ukraine’s “long-range sanctions” strategy against Russia, arguing that military pressure on critical facilities can reduce Moscow’s capacity to continue the war.
He said Ukraine’s objective is not simply to demonstrate its growing strike range but to inflict concrete losses on infrastructure that contributes to Russia’s war effort.
“Our plan of long-range sanctions against Russia for this war is being implemented,” Zelenskyy said, emphasizing the importance of reducing Russia’s war potential.
Zelenskyy Says Pressure Must Continue
The Ukrainian leader argued that the consequences of the war need to become increasingly tangible inside Russia itself.
He said peace is necessary, but suggested that Moscow must see concrete damage to specific facilities as part of the pressure required to bring an end to the conflict.
Zelenskyy concluded by expressing gratitude to the Ukrainian units involved in the reported strikes and praising their accuracy, ending his statement with the traditional Ukrainian wartime slogan, “Glory to Ukraine!”
