Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian attacks across several regions overnight killed at least three people and injured more than 20 others, with residential buildings and other infrastructure sustaining damage.
Emergency crews have been working at multiple strike sites since the night, as authorities assess the destruction and provide medical assistance to those wounded.
Apartment Building Partially Collapses in Kramatorsk
In Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, a Russian guided aerial bomb struck a 10-story residential building, causing part of the structure to collapse from the first through the sixth floor, according to Zelenskyy.
One person was killed and 16 others were injured in the attack. Emergency personnel continued operations at the site as they dealt with the collapsed section of the building.
Child Among Those Killed in Sumy Region
Two people, including a child, were killed in the settlement of Stepanivka in the Sumy region after a Shahed drone struck a private residence, Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president offered condolences to the victims’ relatives and loved ones following the attack.
Drone Strike Damages High-Rise in Smila
In Smila, Cherkasy region, another Russian drone struck a nine-story apartment building, triggering fires across several floors.
Five people were injured in the incident, according to Zelenskyy. Emergency responders were dispatched to the building as authorities worked to contain the damage.
Multiple Regions Report Overnight Attacks
Zelenskyy said overnight strikes also affected the Kherson, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv and Chernihiv regions.
Residential apartment blocks, private homes and infrastructure facilities were damaged, while additional injuries were reported, including among children.
Ukrainian authorities said everyone injured in the attacks was receiving necessary medical treatment.
Zelenskyy Calls for Pressure on Russian Weapons Production
Beyond the immediate damage, Zelenskyy focused his criticism on Russia’s continued production of guided aerial bombs.
He said Russia uses approximately 220 guided aerial bombs each day against frontline communities and argued that sanctions should target the foreign supply chains and companies providing components used in Russian weapons production.
Kyiv Says Weapons Can Be Stopped Before Launch
Zelenskyy argued that preventing future attacks requires disrupting the production networks behind Russian missiles, bombs and drones rather than attempting to intercept every weapon after it has been launched.
He thanked countries and organizations supporting additional sanctions measures, saying sustained economic pressure could help limit Russia’s ability to manufacture and deploy weapons against Ukrainian communities.
