Nigerian Lawyer Accuses President Bola Tinubu of Nepotism in Appointments

“Lawyer Accuses President Tinubu of Nepotism”

Renowned Nigerian lawyer, Liborous Oshoma, has leveled accusations of nepotism and biased appointments against President Bola Tinubu.

In a podcast conversation on the X platform (formerly Twitter), the lawyer expressed concerns about the current trend in appointments under President Tinubu’s administration.

“Comparing to Past Administrations”

Oshoma went on to draw comparisons, suggesting that the nepotism displayed by President Tinubu in his appointments might warrant an apology to former President Muhammadu Buhari.

This provocative statement implies that the accusations of nepotism during Buhari’s tenure may pale in comparison to the alleged nepotism under Tinubu’s leadership.

“Anticipating Change, Facing Reality”

The lawyer had expected a departure from the appointment patterns seen during Buhari’s presidency.

However, he lamented that such a change in appointment practices had not been evident in President Tinubu’s administration.

“Addressing Regional Concentration and Loyalty”

It is worth noting that President Tinubu has faced allegations of concentrating his appointments primarily in the southwestern region and among individuals known for their loyalty to him.

“Controversy Surrounds NIPOST Leadership”

In a related development, the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) made claims regarding the reinstatement of Adeyemi Adepoju as the postmaster general.

This announcement follows a recent directive to replace Adepoju with Tola Odeyemi, issued by the presidency.

NIPOST asserted that President Tinubu had restored Adepoju to his position due to exceptional leadership and performance. However, the presidency has yet to confirm this purported reinstatement.
