Russian forces have struck several vessels and fuel infrastructure at the port of Odesa, according to Russia’s Defense Ministry, which said the operation targeted facilities allegedly involved in supporting Ukraine’s military.

Five Vessels Reportedly Hit

The ministry said three dry cargo ships and two sea-going tankers were struck during the attack. Moscow claimed the vessels were being used to transport military supplies and fuel intended for Ukrainian forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry did not provide further details about the vessels, including the extent of the damage or whether there were casualties.

Fuel Infrastructure Also Targeted

In addition to the ships, Russian officials said fuel tanks and warehouses containing military-related products were hit at the Odesa port.

The ministry described the facilities as part of infrastructure supporting Ukraine’s military operations, framing the strikes as an effort to disrupt the movement and storage of supplies.

Odesa Remains a Key Target

The reported strikes highlight the continuing focus on Odesa and its surrounding port infrastructure amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The Black Sea port is one of Ukraine’s most important maritime hubs and has played a major role in the movement of commercial and strategic goods.

The Russian Defense Ministry has not released independent evidence detailing the full extent of the reported damage, while Ukrainian authorities had not been quoted in the supplied report responding to the claims.
