President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted his list of ministerial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
The list includes a diverse group of former governors, technocrats, and prominent members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Let’s take a closer look at the profiles of some of the notable individuals on the list.
1. Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar:
Amb. Tuggar, born on March 12, 1967, has served as the Nigerian Ambassador to Germany and was previously a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, representing Gamawa from Bauchi State.
He has also contended for the governorship position in Bauchi State.
2. Arch. Ahmed Dangiwa:
Before becoming the Managing Director/CEO of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Arch. Dangiwa was involved in architectural and real estate development consultancy.
He holds architecture degrees from Ahmadu Bello University and has attended various training programs.
3. Barr. Hannatu Musawa:
Hannatu Musawa is a lawyer, politician, and author who has been active in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
She holds law degrees from the University of Buckingham and has earned postgraduate degrees in legal aspects of marine affairs and oil & gas.
4. Chief Uche Nnaji:
Chief Uche Nnaji, a member of the APC, was the party’s gubernatorial candidate in Enugu State.
He has been involved in politics since winning the senatorial ticket of the Alliance for Democracy in 1999.
5. Dr. Betta Edu:
Dr. Edu, born on October 27, 1986, is a medical doctor who previously served as the Cross River State Commissioner for Health and as the National Chairman of Nigeria Health Commissioners Forum.
She has an impressive educational background, including a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Calabar.
6. Dr. Dorris Aniche Uzoka:
Dr. (Mrs.) Uzoka-Anite, a civil engineer, is a former Commissioner for Finance and Coordinating Economy in Imo State. She has also served as the General Manager of Zenith Bank Plc.
7. David Umahi:
David Umahi, the former Governor of Ebonyi State, previously participated in the APC presidential primaries and later served as a Senator.
8. Nyesom Wike
Nyesom Wike, the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, has a legal background and has held several political positions, including being the Executive Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Area.
9. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar:
Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, a former Governor of Jigawa State, has also been involved in various presidential committees and is the owner of Talamiz Group of Industries.
10. Nasir El-Rufai:
Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State and a founding member of the APC, has had significant roles in the development of the Federal Capital Territory and the Bureau of Public Enterprises.
11. Rt. Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo:
Hon. Ekpo is a prominent grassroot politician and a former Council Chairman.
He has represented his state, Akwa Ibom, in the House of Representatives.
12. Hon Nkiru Onyejeocha:

13. Hon. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo
Hon. Tunji-Ojo is a lawmaker from Ondo State with an impressive educational background in engineering and extensive experience in ICT.
14. Stella Oketete:
Hon. Oketete holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Diplomacy and has a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution.
She has held various roles within the APC and the Nigeria Export-Import Bank.
15. Bello Muhammad Goronyo:
Bello Muhammad-Goronyo was a former Commissioner for Information in Sokoto State and has been involved in politics in the state.
16. Hon. Uju Kennedy Ohanenye:
Kennedy-Ohanenye is a businesswoman with stakes in real estate and education.
She previously contested in the APC’s presidential primary and has shown strong support for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
17. Dele Alake:
Dele Alake, a Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, has an extensive background in journalism and was the former commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos State.
18. Lateef Fagbemi SAN:
Lateef Fagbemi is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and a jurist who has made significant contributions to the development of Law and Justice in Nigeria.
19. Olawale Edun:
Olawale Edun is a seasoned financial expert who previously served as the Honourable Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State during Tinubu’s tenure.
20. Adebayo Adelabu:
Adebayo Adelabu is a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and a financial expert with a wealth of experience in the banking sector.
21. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim:
Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim served as the director-general of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) before being redeployed as the Honourable Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons.
22. Prof. Ali Pate:
Prof. Ali Pate is a physician and a Professor of the Practice of Public Health Leadership.
He previously served as the Global Director for Health, Nutrition, and Population at the World Bank Group and was the former Minister of State for Health in Nigeria.
23. Prof. Joseph Userve:
Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev is a civil engineer and former Rector of federal polytechnic in Benue state.
He was also a commissioner in the Samuel Ortom government.
24. Senator Abubakar Kyari:
Senator Abubakar Kyari was a representative of Borno North Senatorial District and served as the acting national chairman of the APC.
25. Senator John Enoh:
Senator Enoh represented Central Senatorial District of Cross River State and contested for the governorship seat of the state.
26. Sani Abubakar Danladi:
Sani Abubakar Danladi is a former Acting Governor and Deputy Governor of Taraba State. He was born in Taraba State.
27. Engineer Abubakar Momoh:
Engr. Momoh is a civil engineer from Edo State who has been a two-time member of the House of Representatives.
28. Muhammed Idris:
Muhammed Idris is a member of the APC and hails from Kogi State.
