PLACENTA PREVIA 🤰🏽🩸 Placenta previa happens when the placenta lies low in the uterus and partially or completely covers the cervix. 🚨 Why is this important? Because it can cause painless vaginal bleeding in pregnancy, especially in the 2nd or 3rd trimester. 🔎 Types: • Type I – Low-lying placenta • Type II – Marginal • Type III – Partial • Type IV – Complete (covers the cervix fully) ⚠️ Symptoms: • Bright red bleeding • No pain • Bleeding after intercourse sometimes 📌 Risk Factors: • Previous C-section • Multiple pregnancies • Multiple abortions • Advanced maternal age 🩺 Diagnosis: Usually confirmed with ultrasound scan. 💡 Management depends on: • How far gone the pregnancy is • Amount of bleeding • Type of placenta previa 👉 Some cases resolve as pregnancy progresses. 👉 Severe cases may require planned C-section. ❗Important: Any bleeding in pregnancy is NOT normal. Please see your doctor immediately. — #PlacentaPrevia #PregnancyCare #PregnancyEducation #SafeMotherhood #Obstetrics #MaternalHealth #PregnancyJourney #ThirdTrimester #HighRiskPregnancy #WomenHealth #MedEducator #HealthTalkWithTolulope #DrTolulopeSpeaks #NaijaMoms #LagosMoms #PregnancyInNigeria

Did you know not all pelvises are the same? 👀 The shape of your pelvis can influence labour and delivery. There are 4 main types of female pelvis: 1️⃣ Gynecoid Pelvis ✨ The most common type ✨ Round shape ✨ Considered ideal for vaginal delivery 2️⃣ Android Pelvis ✨ Heart-shaped ✨ Narrower outlet ✨ Labour may be more challenging 3️⃣ Anthropoid Pelvis ✨ Oval shape (long front to back) ✨ Baby may enter facing backward ✨ Vaginal delivery still possible 4️⃣ Platypelloid Pelvis ✨ Flat shape ✨ Wide side-to-side but shallow front-to-back ✨ Baby may have difficulty engaging 💡 Important: Pelvic type does NOT automatically determine if you can deliver vaginally. Many women with different pelvis types have successful natural births. Your body was designed intelligently 🤍 #PelvicTypes #WomenHealth #ObstetricsAndGynecology #PregnancyEducation #MedicalContentCreator #AnatomyFacts #MaternalHealth #BirthEducation
