Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has encouraged young Nigerians to pursue lasting success through patience, discipline and hard work, cautioning them against becoming satisfied with minor achievements or rushing through life.
She delivered the message on Friday while hosting members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Wing at the State House in Abuja.
During the meeting, she also donated nine brand-new buses to the party’s youth leadership to strengthen their activities across the country.
Youths Encouraged to Build Character
According to a statement issued by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady stressed that success is built on strong values rather than shortcuts.
She advised the youth leaders to cultivate integrity, perseverance, diligence and contentment, noting that many young people often become impatient in their pursuit of progress.
Oluremi Tinubu said that people should trust that opportunities come at the right time, urging the younger generation to avoid desperation and instead focus on developing themselves through honest effort.
Eagle Analogy Highlights Resilience
Using the eagle as an example, the First Lady challenged the APC youth leaders to adopt a mindset of resilience and courage when facing life’s difficulties.
She explained that just as an eagle rises above storms instead of avoiding them, young Nigerians should learn to overcome obstacles with confidence.
She also warned against comparing themselves with others, encouraging them to create their own paths rather than chasing another person’s achievements.
According to her, genuine success comes from determination and individual purpose rather than competition or envy.
APC Youth Wing Praised for Grassroots Engagement
Senator Tinubu also applauded the APC National Youth Wing for maintaining unity while expanding the party’s activities across the grassroots.
She urged the youth leaders to remain committed to promoting the achievements and policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing them as important ambassadors of the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The First Lady said the youth wing has a responsibility to demonstrate commitment, resilience and optimism as it helps build support for the administration’s vision.
Nine Buses Presented to Strengthen Operations
As part of her support for the youth wing, Oluremi Tinubu officially handed over nine buses to key APC youth officials.
The vehicles were distributed to the party’s National Youth Leader, Deputy National Youth Leader, zonal youth leaders and the Federal Capital Territory youth leadership.
The donation is expected to improve mobility for party programmes, community engagement and other organisational activities.
APC Youth Leader Hails Donation
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel expressed appreciation for the First Lady’s gesture, describing the buses as a major boost to the youth wing’s capacity.
He said the donation would improve outreach efforts, strengthen community engagement and enhance preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Israel reaffirmed the youth wing’s commitment to supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda, stating that the new vehicles would help members reach more communities while carrying out mobilisation efforts across Nigeria.
Youth Wing Pledges Stronger Nationwide Campaign
The APC youth leader also pledged greater support for President Bola Tinubu and the party, revealing plans to expand campaign structures across all 36 states of the federation.
Expressing gratitude for the donation, he remarked that many of the youth leaders arrived at the meeting without official vehicles but were leaving with brand-new buses, describing the gesture as a significant investment in the future of the party’s young leadership.
