Nollywood Star Yul Edochie Appeals to President Tinubu for Freedom of Nnamdi Kanu

Kanu has been held in custody for the past two years following his arrest and extradition from Kenya to Nigeria.

His detention stems from his activism and push for the realization of Biafra.

Government Resistance: Kanu’s Continued Incarceration

Despite court orders demanding Kanu’s release, the Nigerian government has persistently refused to set him free.

Yul Edochie expressed his concern over the prolonged detention of Kanu and urged President Tinubu to intervene and secure his release from the custody of the Department of State Security (DSS).

A Humble Request: Yul Edochie’s Plea as Tinubu’s “Son”

Addressing President Tinubu, Yul Edochie, in his tweet, referred to him as a leader, highlighting Tinubu’s three-decade-long fight for democracy and his role as a builder and supporter of individuals.

Edochie humbly requested that President Tinubu consider releasing Nnamdi Kanu, emphasizing that the appeal came from his position as Tinubu’s “son.”

Yul Edochie concluded his tweet by addressing President Tinubu as “The Jagaban,” a term often used to refer to Tinubu.

He reiterated his plea for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, portraying it as a sincere request from a concerned individual.
