Kelsey Parker has welcomed a baby daughter with her partner Will Lindsay, sharing an emotional message about finding hope following years marked by devastating personal loss.
The 35-year-old announced the arrival of their daughter, River, on Instagram, posting a photograph showing the newborn baby’s arm and describing her as the couple’s “little bit of hope.”
The happy announcement comes after Kelsey endured the death of her husband, The Wanted singer Tom Parker, and later the stillbirth of her and Will’s son Phoenix.
Kelsey Introduces Baby River to the World
Announcing her daughter’s arrival on social media, Kelsey kept her message brief but deeply personal.
“Welcome to the world, River. Our little bit of hope,” she wrote alongside the photograph.
River is Kelsey’s fourth child. She shares daughter Aurelia, six, and son Bodhi, four, with Tom, while her son Phoenix with Will was stillborn at 39 weeks in June 2025.
The latest arrival comes approximately four years after Tom died from a brain tumour at the age of 33.
Birth Follows Heartbreak of Losing Baby Phoenix
River’s arrival is particularly significant for Kelsey and Will following the death of their son Phoenix.
Kelsey was 39 weeks pregnant when Phoenix was stillborn in June 2025, leaving the family confronting another profound bereavement.
She later spoke openly about navigating the loss while continuing to care for Aurelia and Bodhi and attempting to preserve some normality in their lives.
Kelsey credited her children with helping her survive some of her darkest periods.
Kelsey Described New Pregnancy as a ‘Rainbow Baby’
Kelsey announced in May that she and Will were expecting another child.
At the time, she referred to the pregnancy as a “rainbow baby,” a term commonly used for a child born following miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss.
She emotionally described the pregnancy as a gift sent by Tom and Phoenix.
The arrival of River now marks a hopeful new chapter for the family following the grief that accompanied Phoenix’s death.
Tom Parker Died Following Brain Tumour Diagnosis
Kelsey’s first major family tragedy came with the death of Tom Parker in March 2022.
The Wanted singer had been diagnosed with an inoperable glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2020.
He was 33 when he died, leaving Kelsey widowed with two young children.
Kelsey has repeatedly spoken publicly about the difficulty of suddenly becoming a widow and raising Aurelia and Bodhi without their father.
She has also emphasised the importance of ensuring that Tom remains part of their children’s lives through conversations and memories.
Tom Remains Part of Family Life
Although Kelsey has rebuilt her personal life, she has said that Tom continues to have an important presence in the family’s home.
She explained that she and the children speak about him every day and that conversations surrounding their father’s death remain particularly important while Aurelia and Bodhi continue processing their loss.
Kelsey has argued that finding happiness again does not require her to abandon or diminish the life she shared with Tom.
Instead, she has described grief as something that becomes part of a person’s continuing life rather than something that simply disappears.
Kelsey Found Love With Will Lindsay
Kelsey began dating tree surgeon Will Lindsay in September 2024, more than two years after Tom’s death.
She later explained that meeting Will helped ease the loneliness she had experienced following the loss of her husband.
Although friends and relatives had provided considerable support, Kelsey said she had missed having a partner with whom she could share the everyday emotional pressures of life.
She has also said Tom’s parents, Noreen and Nigel, supported her decision to pursue another relationship.
According to Kelsey, they understood the difficulties she had experienced and remained supportive of the choices she made while rebuilding her life.
Children Helped Family Cope After Phoenix’s Death
Following Phoenix’s stillbirth, Kelsey said caring for Aurelia and Bodhi gave both her and Will a reason to maintain their daily routines despite their grief.
She recalled continuing with activities such as taking the children to school rather than withdrawing completely from normal life.
Kelsey said she deliberately faced other parents on the school run because avoiding those encounters would only postpone the difficult conversations surrounding what had happened.
She has repeatedly advocated greater openness when discussing death, grief and pregnancy loss, arguing that many people remain uncomfortable addressing such subjects.
Kelsey Says There Is No Correct Way to Grieve
Her experiences have also shaped her views on bereavement.
Kelsey has said there is no universal timetable determining when somebody should begin another relationship after losing a partner.
She has previously reflected on how unexpected her circumstances were, noting that she never imagined becoming a widow at 32 while raising two young children.
For Kelsey, moving forward has meant finding room for new happiness without attempting to erase the people she has lost.
Troll Told Kelsey to Stop Thinking About Tom
That approach was challenged earlier this month when Kelsey received a hostile social-media message after commemorating what would have been Tom’s 37th birthday.
The message accused her of living in the past and suggested that continuing to publicly express her love for Tom was disrespectful to Will and their relationship.
Kelsey shared the criticism publicly and strongly rejected its central argument.
She pointed out that Tom was not an ex-husband from whom she had separated but her husband who had died.
‘My Past, Present and Future Can All Exist Together’
Kelsey explained that entering another relationship had not ended her love for Tom or eliminated her grief.
She said Will understands that reality, comparing it with the love he continues to have for his own father, who died when Will was 21.
Kelsey said neither would expect the other to stop speaking about someone they had lost simply because life had continued.
“My past, my present and my future can all exist together,” she wrote, adding that the different parts of her life were not mutually exclusive.
Now, with the arrival of River, Kelsey and Will are beginning another chapter in a family story that has involved both extraordinary loss and the determination to embrace happiness again.
