The family of late Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams has officially announced that his funeral will take place on Saturday, 25 July.
The confirmation comes just days after the footballer’s passing, with loved ones expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support received from South Africans during this difficult period.
In a public statement, the family thanked fans, friends and the wider community for the messages of sympathy and compassion they have received since Adams’ death, saying the encouragement has provided comfort as they prepare to say their final goodbye.
Public Invited to Attend Memorial Service
Members of the public have been invited to attend the funeral service, which is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Coetzenburg Centre located at the Coetzenburg Sports Grounds in Stellenbosch.
The family also clarified that mourners will not need any special wristband or armband to gain access to the service, addressing speculation surrounding attendance requirements.
Final Farewell Reserved for Immediate Family
While the memorial service will be open to the public, the family has requested privacy during the final stages of the farewell.
Only close relatives will be permitted to view Adams’ body before the service begins.
In addition, the burial ceremony at the cemetery will be attended exclusively by family members, allowing them to grieve in a more private setting.

According to the family, these arrangements were made after consultations with several authorities to ensure both safety and proper crowd management.
The planning process involved the South African Police Service (SAPS), private security personnel, the venue owners, municipal law enforcement officials and local traffic authorities, who worked together to prepare for what is expected to be a large turnout.
