The young gymnast lost control while performing on the apparatus, falling from approximately 8.5 feet and landing heavily on his head and neck.

Medical Teams Spend 30 Minutes Treating Injured Gymnast
The event at Glasgow International Arena was suspended for around half an hour while doctors and emergency responders worked to stabilize Langton.
He remained motionless for several moments after the fall, raising immediate concern among those inside the venue.
As treatment continued, there were encouraging signs when reports suggested movement in his legs before he was carefully secured in a neck brace.
Supporters applauded respectfully as Langton was eventually carried from the arena on a stretcher and transported for further medical evaluation.
England Forced to Regroup After Emotional Delay
The accident occurred during England’s final rotation on the high bar, with the team already occupying second place behind Canada.
Following the lengthy interruption, officials allowed competitors to complete another warm-up session before the final resumed.
Luke Whitehouse became the first English gymnast to compete after the incident.
Clearly affected by what had happened to his teammate, he completed his routine but was unable to stick the landing on his dismount.

Whitehouse Praises Team’s Mental Strength
After the event, Whitehouse admitted it had been extremely difficult to regain focus following Langton’s injury.
He explained that the team agreed to take another warm-up to reset mentally before returning to competition.
He also credited the coaches for helping the athletes compose themselves and praised the gymnasts who still had to perform on the high bar.
According to Whitehouse, the team’s unity during such challenging circumstances made him especially proud of everyone involved.
England Secures Silver Despite Difficult Circumstances
Despite the emotional setback, Alexander Yolshin-Cash and Adam Tobin delivered composed routines that helped England secure the silver medal.
Canada captured the team title, ending a 20-year wait for Commonwealth Games gold in the men’s team event, while Australia completed the podium with bronze.
The result also marked England’s first failure to win Commonwealth Games men’s team gold since the 2010 edition in Delhi.
Langton Misses Medal Ceremony While Receiving Treatment
Langton was absent from the medal presentation as he continued receiving medical care.
His teammates Joshua Nathan, Adam Tobin, Luke Whitehouse and Alexander Yolshin-Cash accepted the silver medals on behalf of the team.
Nathan described the medal as especially meaningful after such an emotional day, saying the entire team was thinking first and foremost about Langton.
He added that the athletes had come together remarkably well despite the difficult circumstances and said he could not have been prouder of his teammates.
Tobin echoed those sentiments, saying everyone’s primary hope was that Langton would make a full recovery.
