The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says it has begun conducting precision strikes in southern Lebanon following what it described as a “blatant violation” of the existing ceasefire by Hezbollah.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the military said the operations were launched in direct response to the alleged breach but did not immediately provide further details regarding the nature of the violation or the specific targets being struck.

Military Says Operations Focus on Southern Lebanon

According to the IDF, the strikes are being carried out against targets in southern Lebanon as part of what it described as a measured military response.

The announcement comes amid continued tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border, where ceasefire arrangements have been tested by intermittent exchanges and security incidents.

IDF Reports Discovery of Hezbollah Weapons Infrastructure

Earlier in the day, the Israeli military announced that its forces had uncovered what it described as a cache of Hezbollah military equipment during operations in the Srobbin area of southern Lebanon.

According to the IDF, troops located Kalashnikov rifles, anti-tank rockets, additional military equipment, and a weapons storage facility that allegedly contained Hezbollah launchers and rockets.

Underground Tunnel Dismantled During Operation

The military also said its forces dismantled an underground tunnel extending dozens of meters beneath the Srobbin area.

The IDF alleged that the tunnel had been used by Hezbollah fighters to facilitate attacks against Israeli troops operating near the border.

Border Tensions Continue

The latest military announcements underscore the fragile security situation along the Israel-Lebanon frontier, where both sides have accused each other of violations in recent months.

The IDF maintains that its operations are intended to address what it describes as security threats posed by Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in southern Lebanon, while the broader ceasefire remains under increasing strain.
