Harry Redknapp has dismissed the possibility of making a dramatic return to Tottenham, despite growing speculation surrounding the future of struggling head coach Igor Tudor.
The former Spurs manager, who guided the club to the Champions League quarter-finals in 2011, admitted that returning to north London would appeal to him but believes the opportunity is unlikely to happen.
Former Spurs Boss Admits He Would Love Another Chance
Redknapp, now 78, addressed the rumours while attending the Cheltenham Festival, where he was focused on his horse competing in the Gold Cup.
When asked about a potential Tottenham comeback, he revealed that he had been questioned about the possibility several times but does not expect the club to make contact.
“I’ve been asked a few times if I’d go back to Spurs and it’s probably not going to happen, is it?” Redknapp said.
“Would I go back? Of course I would, but I doubt very much it’s going to happen.”
He added that Tottenham had not approached him and that his immediate attention remained elsewhere.
Tudor Under Pressure After Nightmare Start
The speculation around a possible managerial change comes as Tudor faces increasing scrutiny following a disastrous beginning to his Tottenham tenure.
The Croatian coach replaced Thomas Frank last month but has failed to secure a victory in his first four matches in charge.
