…By Gift BADEWO for TDPel Media. Oscar-nominated Greta Gerwig, a renowned 39-year-old actress, writer, and director, welcomed her first child with her partner, 53-year-old filmmaker Noah Baumbach, in 2021.
The announcement was made public in an interview with Elle UK published this Wednesday.
Revealing First Glimpses
During the interview, Gerwig showed the magazine a picture of her newborn son.
She described her son’s personality saying, “He’s a little Schmoo.
“I don’t know if you can tell energy from the picture, but that’s very much his energy.
“He’s a wise little baby.”
Pregnancy Announcement
Gerwig first shared the news of her pregnancy during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in December of the previous year.
Gerwig and Baumbach’s Partnership
Gerwig and Baumbach initially met while working on the 2010 comedy-drama Greenberg.
Their professional partnership extended beyond this project, leading to co-writing endeavors on films such as Frances Ha, Mistress America, and the upcoming live-action Barbie film.
Anticipated Barbie Film
The Barbie film, which is set to release in the UK this Friday, features Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken.

Gerwig’s Directorial Debut
Greta Gerwig is also celebrated for her directorial debut with the 2017 film Lady Bird.
The coming-of-age drama, starring Saoirse Ronan, garnered Gerwig two Academy Award nominations, one for best director and another for best original screenplay.
Baumbach’s Previous Family
