In recent news from The Guardian Nigeria, renowned Nigerian artist Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, commonly known as KC Limpopo, has stepped forward to address allegations surrounding his involvement with a young prodigy named Ojazzy Igbonile in relation to his well-acclaimed song “Ojapiano.”
The artist has been faced with mounting accusations suggesting that he exploited and disregarded the emerging talent of Ojazzy Igbonile, the local flutist who contributed the captivating sounds of the Oja instrument to enhance the mesmerizing melody of the chart-topping track “Ojapiano.”
Known for his adept fusion of Igbo cultural influences with the vibrant South African music scene, KC Limpopo has undeniably injected a burst of distinctiveness into Nigeria’s entertainment exports.
However, the recent allegations have prompted him to set the record straight.
In an interview with BBC Igbo, the artist vehemently refuted the claims of abandoning the young prodigy, asserting the falseness of such allegations.
KC Limpopo went on to recount his interactions with the budding talent.
He shared that he had taken the initiative to bring the young flutist from the eastern region to a recording studio in Lagos.
The decision was influenced by Ojazzy Igbonile’s impressive performance during a show, which left a lasting impression on the artist.
KC Limpopo clarified that his support extended beyond mere provision; he ensured that the young artist’s needs were met and even exceeded.
Expressing his satisfaction, the artist revealed his joy upon discovering that Ojazzy Igbonile had released a video addressing the situation.
In the video, the young talent reassured the community that their relationship was amicable and dismissed any rumors of discord between them.
