The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) in partnership with The Trade Facilitation Office (TFO) Canada has commenced training of 112 women on export support services in Abuja, Kano and Lagos States.
The training initiated through the Women in Trade for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth (WIT) (2019-2024) is aimed at promoting the exportation of products and services with focus on the Agro-food sector.
The Director-General of the ACCI, Victoria Akai, while welcoming the participants at the Trade and Convention Centre in Abuja encouraged them to learn and share experiences that would make them better exporters at the end of the training, while adding that this opportunity should be grabbed by participants as they are also expected to impact other women after now.
The Director, BEST Centre, Dr.
Tinuke Temitope, in her remark noted that the initiative is aimed to support SMEs in various capacities, among which is organizing training activities that support exportation such as market research, marketing and communications strategies and export marketing plans.
Some of the participants in their reactions lauded the initiative while calling on other agencies and international bodies to also make such initiative available to women in business across Nigeria.
The five-day training, which commenced in Abuja on Monday with 60 women in attendance is also ongoing concurrently in Kano and Lagos States.
