Cinderella Moment: Prince Christian of Denmark and the Mysterious Golden Stiletto

An 18th Birthday Fit for Royalty

Prince Christian of Denmark, one of Europe’s most eligible bachelors, celebrated his 18th birthday in style with a glitzy gala dinner at the Christiansborg Palace.

The event attracted dazzling future Queens from across Europe, but one guest made a notable attempt to catch the prince’s attention in a real-life Cinderella moment.

A Golden Stiletto Left Behind

Anne-Sofie Tornso Olesen, 18, a Danish actress known for her role in the TV series BaseBoys, left her golden stiletto heel at the palace for the prince to find.

Rather than going on a house-to-house search for its owner, Prince Christian chose to post a photograph of the mysterious heel on social media.

The Palace’s Social Media Appeal

In an effort to return the shoe to its rightful owner, the Danish Royal Household posted a caption that read, “When the guests at Her Majesty The Queen’s gala table yesterday had gone home, this lonely stiletto shoe was left at Christiansborg Castle. The owner is welcome to contact to get it back.”

Anne-Sofie’s Fairy Tale Ending

Anne-Sofie, who had been invited to represent her area at the gala, later claimed the shoe as her own. She explained, “It was meant to be a fairytale ending à la Cinderella.” She won the invitation to the party in a tombola.

An Unexpected Conversation

During the gala, Prince Christian and Anne-Sofie did speak to one another, although the details of their conversation remain somewhat hazy.

Anne-Sofie mentioned that she was confused during the encounter and couldn’t recall the exact content of their discussion.

No Fairy Tale Ending Yet

Despite this Cinderella-esque gesture, there is no confirmation of whether Denmark’s second in line to the throne will return the shoe to Anne-Sofie in person.

Recent rumors have linked Prince Christian to Princess Marie Chiara of Bourbon-Two-Sicilies, a member of the defunct Italian royal family. However, the Danish royal family has remained silent on the matter.

Chiara’s Response

Princess Marie Chiara of Bourbon-Two-Sicilies, when asked about her relationship with Prince Christian, appeared to dismiss the rumors.

She emphasized the importance of reality over fairytales in a statement, noting that they have known each other since childhood, with her father even being the godfather of Prince Christian’s younger sister.

While Anne-Sofie’s Cinderella moment may not lead to a fairytale romance, it certainly garnered attention for the royal house and added a touch of enchantment to Prince Christian’s 18th birthday celebration.
