Recently, a major salmonella outbreak has led to a widespread recall of certain egg brands across multiple states.

Health officials have traced the source of the outbreak to a farm in Wisconsin.
This farm, identified as Milo’s Poultry Farms in Bonduel, is where the salmonella strain was found in a hen egg-laying house and a packing facility.
Due to this discovery, all eggs produced at Milo’s Poultry Farms, along with those sold under the ‘Tony’s Fresh Market’ brand, have been recalled.
The recall applies to eggs with “all expiration dates,” but the exact number of eggs recovered remains unclear.

So far, at least 65 people have been affected by this outbreak, although the actual number could be higher since many may not seek testing for the bacteria.
While there have been no deaths reported, 24 people required hospitalization.
Wisconsin has been hit hardest, with 42 infections, many of which were linked to eggs served in restaurants.
Other states affected include Illinois, California, and Minnesota, with varying numbers of reported cases.
The Spread and Timeline
The first case was reported back in May, but the majority of infections occurred between July and August.
Besides Wisconsin, cases have surfaced in other states, such as Michigan, Utah, and Virginia, with Illinois recording the second-highest number of infections.
