The current transfer window has been quite a whirlwind for Kaizer Chiefs, who are clearly determined to revamp their squad.

With several new faces joining the team, Chiefs are setting themselves up for a major shake-up this season.

So far, Chiefs have welcomed seven new players to their roster, and they’re not done yet.

At least two more signings are on the horizon before the window closes.

Strengthening the Defense

Last season’s poor defensive record, which contributed to their disappointing 10th place finish, has prompted a strong response.

Chiefs have focused heavily on bolstering their defense with five new signings.

To tackle their issues on the left side of defense, they’ve brought in Bongani Sam from Orlando Pirates, Rushwin Dortley from Cape Town Spurs, and Bradley Cross from Golden Arrows.

New Faces in Goal and Defense

In addition to these defenders, Chiefs have also signed right-sided centre-back Inacio Miguel from Angola’s Petro de Luanda and strengthened their goalkeeper position with Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy.

Before opting for Ntwari, Chiefs were closely linked with Nigerian goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who was also rumored to be on the radar of their rivals, Orlando Pirates.

Chippa United’s Take on Nwabali’s Transfer

Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi, chairman of Chippa United, recently revealed that his club was willing to sell Nwabali to Chiefs at a lower price than what was reported.

According to Mpengesi, the supposed R40 million price tag for Nwabali was exaggerated.

He claimed that Chippa United would have charged Chiefs significantly less, as the main consideration was the player’s interest in joining a big club like Chiefs rather than the financial aspect.
