A bride-to-be has sparked widespread criticism after allegedly asking her bridesmaid to gain weight so she would appear slimmer by comparison on her wedding day.
The disagreement was revealed by a woman named Jackie, who shared details of her falling-out with her friend Nikki in a TikTok video that has attracted more than 107,000 views.
Jackie explained that Nikki had invited her to lunch and asked her to be part of the bridal party for her wedding, scheduled for December next year.
Although she initially welcomed the invitation with excitement, her enthusiasm quickly disappeared when the bride began outlining her expectations.
Bride Wants to Be the Skinniest Woman at Her Wedding
According to Jackie, Nikki made it clear that she did not want her bridesmaid attracting more attention than her on the wedding day.
Recalling their conversation, Jackie said Nikki told her: “I can’t have you outshining me on my big day, I wanna be the skinniest b**** there.”
The request reportedly came as a shock to Jackie, who said she had been working hard to lose weight.
She claimed that when she suggested Nikki could consider losing weight herself instead, the bride-to-be became emotional and accused her of attempting to sabotage the wedding.
Bride Also Complains About Bridesmaid’s Acne
Jackie alleged that weight was not the only issue Nikki raised during their lunch meeting.
She claimed the bride-to-be also instructed her to start getting facials twice a week to clear her acne before the wedding.
According to Jackie, Nikki was concerned about how her bridesmaid would appear in the wedding photographs and was unwilling to spend additional money on editing her appearance.
“You’re going to be in a lot of pictures at the wedding … your acne is an eyesore and I’m not paying more just to get your face airbrushed,” Jackie recalled her friend saying.
The demands left Jackie questioning the behaviour of someone she had previously considered her best friend.
She said she was struggling to contain her frustration and described Nikki’s expectations as unreasonable.
Friendship Breaks Down Over Wedding Demands
Jackie said she eventually confronted Nikki about her behaviour, telling her that she was being unreasonable.
However, the criticism reportedly made the bride-to-be even angrier.
According to Jackie, Nikki accused her of being jealous because she was the one getting married.
The confrontation eventually became too much for Jackie, who decided to leave the lunch.
Reflecting on the disagreement, she described the situation as an unexpected change in her friendship with Nikki.
“There is nothing scarier in this world than a woman who is about to get married,” she said.

Jackie’s account quickly generated reactions from TikTok users, many of whom criticised the bride-to-be’s alleged demands.
Several commenters advised her to reconsider the friendship rather than continue with the wedding arrangements.
