Elizabeth Emanuel, the designer behind Princess Diana’s iconic wedding dress, has launched legal action against a Las Vegas exhibition over its display of replicas of the royal gown.

The designer is accusing five companies responsible for Princess Diana & The Royals: The Exhibition of reproducing her creations without permission.

She argues that the attraction undermines the artistic integrity and historical importance of her work by allowing visitors to walk across a glass platform positioned above a replica of the dress’s 25-foot train.

Emanuel also claims that the imitation is of inferior quality and could damage her professional reputation.

Dispute Over Ownership and Permission

Court documents filed in Nevada indicate that discussions between the exhibition organisers and the designers began in 2019, with formal negotiations starting the following year.

The organisers reportedly asked Elizabeth and her former husband, David Emanuel, to establish who owned the rights to the wedding dress.

Elizabeth confirmed her ownership in writing in 2020, but the discussions failed to produce an agreement.

According to the lawsuit, the organisers subsequently approached David independently after negotiations with Elizabeth broke down.

She alleges that her former husband had no authority to grant permission for the reproduction.

The organisers eventually commissioned Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave to produce a life-size version of the wedding dress using paper.

Elizabeth’s legal complaint claims the replica is convincing enough to be mistaken for the original by visitors viewing it from a short distance.

Other Princess Diana Outfits Included in the Lawsuit

The legal action also concerns several other outfits Elizabeth designed for the late Princess of Wales.

They include the black dress Diana wore during her first public appearance after announcing her engagement to Prince Charles, as well as the gold-and-white gown she wore to the Royal Opera House in 1986.

The complaint further identifies replicas of the dresses worn by the royal bridesmaids and a pale-blue sequinned outfit.

Elizabeth also alleges that the exhibition has repeatedly used her name without authorisation, creating the impression that she endorsed the displays and approved the reproduction of her designs.

She says the situation has caused her emotional distress, embarrassment and humiliation, alongside damage to her professional reputation.

The designer is seeking financial compensation and a court injunction that could require the exhibition organisers to remove the disputed displays.

The five companies named in the lawsuit have not yet responded to the allegations.

Lady Helen Taylor Opens Up About Losing Her Mother

Lady Helen Taylor has spoken publicly about her grief following the death of her mother, Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, who died in September 2025 at the age of 92.

Speaking at the launch of the Ever After Garden 2026 at Duke of York Square in Chelsea, west London, the 62-year-old described how the past year had been particularly difficult.

She also revealed that the family lost their dog this year, adding to the emotional challenges she had experienced since her mother’s death.

Lady Helen said grief does not disappear but changes over time, eventually becoming more closely associated with cherished memories.

She added that she finds comfort in feeling that her mother remains with her, despite her passing.

Katharine was married to Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, who is a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.

Bill Nighy Rejects Director’s Request to Shave His Head

Actor Bill Nighy has revealed that he refused to shave his head for his latest film, & Sons, despite the director’s request.

The 76-year-old actor, known for his role in Love Actually, said he contacted his agent after being asked to change his appearance for the production.

Nighy explained that he was unwilling to lose his hair, partly because he had another professional commitment afterwards that required him to retain it.

He eventually suggested growing a beard as an alternative, which he described as a way of accommodating the director’s request without shaving his head.

Russell T Davies Faces Name Confusion Over £250 Play Payment

Television writer Russell T Davies has explained why he added the letter T to his professional name, revealing that the decision was intended to distinguish him from another BBC personality called Russell Davies.

The 63-year-old writer said he wanted to avoid confusion with Russell Davies, the 80-year-old presenter of Radio 4’s Brain of Britain.

However, Russell T Davies joked that the name confusion had previously worked to his advantage.

He claimed he once received £250 for a play written by the other Russell Davies and never returned the money.

A representative for the older Russell Davies responded that his agents would welcome a correction of the longstanding mistake.

Ronnie Wood’s Guesthouse Plans Face Conservation Objections

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is facing objections from conservationists over plans to construct a guesthouse at his £3 million property in Hertfordshire.

The 79-year-old musician wants to build an additional accommodation space for family and friends beside his 15th-century home.

The property already features a tennis court, an ornamental garden and a £40,000 traditional-style gypsy caravan.

However, the proposed building’s curved roof design has attracted criticism from planning officials, who believe it could negatively affect the historic property’s surroundings and the wider conservation area.

Historic England has also raised concerns, describing the proposed barrel-shaped roof as eccentric and contrasting sharply with the traditional architectural design of the main house.

The organisation reportedly compared the structure’s appearance to a pig arc.

Council officials are expected to reach a decision on the proposal later this month.

Boris Becker Reunites With First Wife at Her 60th Birthday Party

Former tennis champion Boris Becker reunited with his first wife, Barbara, as she celebrated her 60th birthday with a 1970s-themed party.

The 58-year-old attended the celebration, where Barbara attracted attention in a silver sequinned jumpsuit.

The former couple were married for eight years before their relationship ended following revelations that Becker had fathered a child with model Angela Ermakova.

The pregnancy resulted from a brief encounter at the Nobu restaurant in London’s Mayfair district, bringing their marriage to an end.
