During his visit, Gates shared an interesting conversation he had with his daughter, Phoebe, regarding his trip to the country.

Discovering Nigerian Music Acts

Speaking at the Pan-African Youth Innovation Forum, themed “Unleashing Africa’s Innovative Future,” Bill Gates revealed that his daughter mentioned how lucky he was to see top Nigerian music acts like Burna Boy and Rema.

Intrigued by her comment, Gates admitted that he had to look up these artists as he prided himself on being “hip” and up-to-date with popular culture.

He also mentioned that during his previous visit to Nigeria, he had the opportunity to watch performances by Davido and Wizkid.

Tinubu’s Focus on Health and Partnership with Gates

On the same day, President Bola Tinubu received Bill Gates and Aliko Dangote, the President of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

During the meeting, Tinubu emphasized the importance of prioritizing the health and safety of Nigerians, recognizing that a country’s development is closely tied to the well-being of its people, particularly the workforce.

He commended Bill Gates for his dedication to working for humanity and acknowledged the partnership between the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Aliko Dangote Foundation.
