Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis, whose side has dominated COSAFA for years, said her primary objective was to finally get their hands on the continental trophy.
Ellis’ charges came close to winning the title in 2018, but lost to Super Falcons (Nigeria’s women’s team) on penalties.
South Africa will play Nigeria in their opening match on 4 July, before taking on Burundi on 7 July.
They will conclude their group matches against Botswana on 10 July.
The South Africans will wrap up their preparations of the tournament in mid-June before jetting off to Morocco for what will be their 12th participation in the continental showpiece.
